Who will play in the BCS Championship game?

The Enemy
A Texas-Ohio rematch?

It could happen and the odds arn't bad...

-Texas would have to win out... after watching yesterday, there isn't a team that is even remotely threatening remaining on the schedule.

-the loser of the OH ST/Mich game will likely drop below Texas. it's the nature of the beast losing late in the season and NO WAY do they do a rematch one month later.

-USC needs to lose. they have land mines all over their schedule. AZ ST, Oregon, Cal, Notre Dame, UCLA. i think they drop one.

-Texas needs Florida to lose. i think they will. @Auburn, Georgia, FSU, and the SEC title game. they've weathered the storm so far, but i think they have a loss coming.

-West Virginia to lose to Louisville or have everyone just decide to give them the middle finger. In the second scenerio I would look for pollsters and coaches to start dropping votes on West Virginia. An OH ST/Michigan vs. West Virginia has absolutely no flavor or appeal whatsoever. West Virginia plays in the Big East and basically has a one-game season. that can't be rewarded or it's the blueprint to the NC. play nobody and watch others lose. nobody wants that.

If the game did occur, they had a QB starting his second game ever, starting CB out, starting LB out, starting saftey out after the 2nd series.

Do you think it would be a better game?

Well, if the rematch did occur it would be out at the "New Horseshoe West" so Texas won't have the big homefield crowd. We showed we match up well against their personnel and I think we'd win again.

Anything could happen...the good thing about the Ohio State/Michigan game being so early, is that a lot of teams play tough games after that...and if they lose after, they likely would drop below the loser of The Game. Tennessee still has a shot i'd say, along with Texas as 1 loss teams. I think the winner of the Louisville/West Virginia game will be undefeated...but how will the BCS feel about them? It will be interesting to see what happens with the first BCS rankings come out, I think next week. Personally if I were to have to bet on a national championship game, i'd pick Ohio State vs. USC.

After Sat, I don't think Florida will lose during the regular season (Georgia embarrased at home, Auburn exposed, etc.)

Florida-OSU in the NC game would be a helluva matchup...

Florida will lose a game, count on it. I bet Auburn beats them this week.

I concur. Go Buckeyes!!!!

I don't think UF will lose to Auburn or UGA in Jacksonville(I'll be there, that's why).

You know the hardest team to get through for UF, well it will be, The University of South Carolina. Spurrier in The Swamp, he has a great record against teams like Tennessee and UGA when he has been known to get under the skin of a coach. The reason Bobby won against him was b/c Bowden didn't take it personal and just continued to do his work. The people Spurrier could piss off, he won against.

He pissed off Urban with some of his chatter, and then beating them at home. That should be a very interesting game. Luckily I'm flying home for that also :)

Just for the record, I think OSU vs. USoCal is more likely given their shite schedule.

Better game? Possibly. The 9-9-06 game was great! 24-7. I guess that there's a chance that Ohio State wins the next one 54-7. That would be a better game. So, yes, it's possible that the rubber match would be a better game.

Definitely a better game. You have those factors you've given plus TX would come in hungrier after getting worked over in Sept. My roommate is a longhorn fan and needless to say I've been ribbing him with glee - the rematch is his and every other texas fan's dream. However, I still don't see this happening. Sure, USC will most likely drop a game, especially with that receiver corp injured. I agree completely with the analysis of WVU Louisville, but I have to heartily disagree on your view of the gators. I'm going to make a bold statement and say they run the table in the SEC. I say this because of an excellent analysis on the Herd of SEC football. All of the SEC runs a very vanilla offense except one team, can you guess that team? It's florida. I mean, look at what florida did to a highly highly touted LSU defense (even Kirk called LSU). That combined with what decent non-conf. teams with good air games have done to SEC teams in bowl games the past few years and it's clear that no D coordinator in the SEC has a solution to contain the only team in the SEC not running a 1980 offense. Florida keeps Texas out of the NC picture.

I just cant see WV making it to the NC not in there division.

Well, WVU is currently ranked #5 and are the only other team to have any first place votes right now, despite playing in "there division". Uh, it's "their conference". If they run the table, WVU has a very real chance of making it to the NC game.

Do you agree that Florida and USC will lose a game this season before the bowl games?

I'd love it if a 1-loss team made it to the national championship game over an undefeated West Virginia, but it isn't going to happen. If West Virginia is one of two undefeated teams in the country, they will be in the national championship game.

I think that there will be two undefeated teams at the end of the year. Both will play for the national championship. No undefeated team gets "screwed" out of the national championship, and no 1-loss team makes it in.
