Who will be Penn State's HC on Feb 2, 2012? (Note - don't merge old posts)

Petersen's son's medical condition (brain tumor a while back) also keeps him in Boise, I believe

I've never bought this blatant excuse. Since when did Boise Fucking Idaho become a center of cutting edge medicine in this country. If his kid's condition were the primary rationale in his decision, one would think he'd take a job at a university with a Comprehensive Cancer Institute asap.

He stays at Boise because he's figured out how to game the system and is scared to move on and put his balls on the line in a big boy conference.

FWIW, I always thought that Greg Schiano would be a good choice.

Excellent coach
2006 "Coach Of The Year" awards
Penn State connection (GS & DB coach 1990-1995)*
D1 head coaching experience, decent (however not great) record at Rutgers
Winning bowl record
Good "east coast" recruiter
NFL coaching experience (Bears assistant coach)

* However on the "downside" he was there when Sundusky as the DC.

Although had all this new shit not come to light, I could easily see those douchebags in charge of that shithole trying to give McQueary the job to buy him off.

The fanbase would burn Beaver Stadium to the ground.

Besides McQueary is the designated fall guy for Curley, Schultz, Paterno & anyone else who gets a finger pointed their way.

Let's try to keep this thread about the potential replacement, and have the discussion of the scandal remain in the Sandusky thread, rather than cluttering up the talk about PSU's next potential HC.

Thanks.

Dan Wetzel (of Yahoo!) and another attorney/radio host (Clay Travis) seemed to feel the eventual collective payout for Penn State to civil suit(s) would be over $100 million. But who really knows.

I don't know about a coaching search without an President, AD and/or other administrators in place, because public outcry seems to be for everyone to be fired. The BOT would have to handle everything (w/ outside consultants).
