Who is your least favorite Buckeye of all time (not counting MoC)?

Surprised that the linebacker (Robert ???)who choked the Wisconsin QB and the kid who kicked the Gamecock's running back in the end zone got a pass on this list.

How about if we changed the question to "which Buckeye embarrassed you the most?" Those two would be right up there, along with Stanley Jackson's pouting sideline how-come-I'm-not-in-there-antics.

The Buckeye that most frustrated me? That would belong to Steve Bellesari?

Yeah, but if you did that, where would Woody's punch rank.

Yeah, I know..I get it...Woody was a great man who did a GREAT MANY wonderful things and was a person who truly cared about his players and people in general. But he had an enormous flaw as well in his temper. And that punch...I'll never forget it or the look in my father's face when it happened.

I don't have a least favorite Buckeye, but Justin Zwick is easily the most disappointing Buckeye for me. He had such hype coming out of high school, and if it wasn't for Troy Smith making up for his miscues, we would have quite possibly been looking at one of the biggest disappointments in NCAA history.

It must be for me Nick Buonamici (sp) I thought he was a total thug and a very average football player.

My fave because he was so personable with the kids at church when he came was Jerry Rudzinski (sp):osu:

First off, welcome to the site Apache. I've never seen a post of yours before, and hope you stick around to make many more, more specifically, many more better ones than the above.

I'm trying to mellow out some, and am pretty sick of banning myself on unneccessary rants. I'm not gonna "ding" this post in this idiotic thread because I don't do that, so I'll just reply.

ANYONE out there who ever saw Nick Buonomici play will disagree wholeheartedly with your analysis. Nick was very far from being "average" on the field. If you remember correctly (or I may add, if you ever saw him play) Nick was a decent sized 6'3" and a solid 240. Nick played here as a member of the "Killer B" defense that included him as well as Bob Brudzinski, Aaron Brown, and Eddie Beamon on the DL. Nick did most of the hard-hitting up front along with Aaron and Eddie yet accumulated a ton of tackles in his career. I would make a strong guess that Nick is top-25 All Time in career tackles here. Also, the kid had incredibe quickness and very soft hands. He was a pass blocking machine, remember countless times seeing him knock balls down at the line of scrimmage. Also remember him picking off a few passes from his interior line position. In all honesty, I think Nick was an All-American talent that got overshadowed by Brudzinski and Brown, who in their own right were deserving of their All American status.

Again, just my opinion. But, in the world that I exist in, MINE is the only one that counts, and your point wasn't very well presented.

Peace.

2. Doesn't believe that sometimes it is better to just shut up when you don't know all the facts:

"Absolutely I think that (Clarett getting paid by boosters) happened," he said. "I believe that it's happened. But there's a difference between fans providing it or members of the university. There's a huge distinction. I don't believe members of the university provided for him."

ESPN - Booster money train at OSU - College Football

Not really sure how this can be in doubt.

Woody was a great man with a lot of flaws. A little known fact that does NOT make him exempt from his behavior is that he had some blood sugar issues in his later years, and perhaps most of his life. When this happened he was more prone to become irrational. Woody could fly off the handle in his life at any time but the punch was totally uncalled for. Woody, as much as anyone, understood this and knew he was wrong and totally unprofessional. By the way Charlie Baughman (sp) said many times that he verbally abused Woody in that game. It does not excuse a coach from crossing that line. Woody would have killed a player for such an act. He knew he was wrong. All of our heroes have a scar on them in some way.

By the way, when I was a high school head football coach, Frank Kremblas (1957 national champ Qb) brought Woody as a surprise to a pep rally when we made the playoffs. Woody was great with the kids and as you know he could capture a crowd. Both of Frank's sons played football and baseball for me in high school. One went to OSU and played catcher for 4 years. One went to EKU and played baseball. Both had stints in the minor leagues. One is now manager for the Nashville Sounds. Frank Kremblas Sr. was one of the toughest and smartest and in many ways the greatest man I knew. He would come over to my house after work and we would X and O for hours and he always took time with my young son at that time. When he passed it was a loss for all of the Buckeye Planet. For me Superman has died.

Great Buckeye-Great Man-Great Father and Husband-Great Lawyer-Great Mind-Great Golfer
