Shut up you know what I meant

No I think Tress should give Zwick another shot Jan 8, Smith is overated!

We all know Troy is the best Big 10 QB ever.

lol, I heard that about that Smith kid. Who is he anyways?

I like Boeckman. (But, Man am I going to miss Smith.)

Good point, but what if Ginn stays? Wouldn't Henton have to change his number next year? Maybe I'm being an idiot (it's happened before), but I'm not writing Ginn off yet. He's a 2nd team all-big ten player who would probably help his draft stock a bunch with another year in college.

It's Boeckman's ball, I think. Like Yertle, though, I'm excited to see what Henton has to offer.... of course, based only on what I've heard about him. The hard part about being Henton, though, is that people will compare his play to Smith. I don't know that that's fair, as Smith will obviously be leaving big shoes.

I feel like Im just sorta skipping over Schoenhoft, and far as I know he's the best in the bunch. Whatever the case, I'm certain of 2 things. 1 Ohio State's QB situation next year will be a "good problem" to have, as we have 3 very capable guys waiting to get their shot. 2 whoever is the best of those three will get the ball, and it will be the right choice.

I agree that we have a very nice problem with these three QB's. I'm confident that Tressel will find one of them who gets the Buckeyes to another successful season.

However, in 1999, I was pumped up to see Bellisari lead the offense after he showed flashes of greatness on special teams as a true freshman. Granted, Bellisari was not the greatest QB (can you say understatement???), but I also feel that he was hurt by having to follow one of the greatest we've had in Germaine. He was screwed. I hope the same thing doesn't happen to Troy's replacement. I doubt it will because I have faith that Tressel can protect a poor QB with a better gameplan than Cooper did with SB. Tressel will win with average QB play by using a suffocating defense, a strong running game, and taking advantage of field position. But, I'm trying to use 1999 as a reminder that I can't get too excited about a new QB.

An important, albeit WAY too early point (considering that there is still a pretty big game in Glendale remaining). Whoever gets the ball is going to be following the best QB in Ohio State history.... some might argue Kern was, or Greene, etc. that's not my point, though. Fact is, whatever Troy's place in Ohio State history, we can all agree he was fantastic and whoever follows him is going to be hard pressed to meet the expectations we've come to have for the QB position.

As fans, I hope everyone remembers that even Troy had to start somewhere, and he did not start where he's going to finish. Whoever gets the ball is going to have some growing pains, and I really hope we don't hear calls for whoever is #2 on the chart prematurely.

I think JT knows that the "spread" offense provides the opportunity to score more points . The QB who can run our spread the best will be the starter. An athletic QB is a plus but if your QB is an accurate passer and makes good reads thats all you need. Plus our running game in the I or the spread should be more than adequate.

Use 1999-2001 to remind yourself how much Tress improved SB and if he can do that, then I have no worries about whomever is under center in '07.

Also, whoever it is will have a good D, a solid run game and a back loaded schedule that should combine to make the break in time as smooth as possible next year.

I agree with Jax. Regardless of the qb, the schedule makes it easier to break in an inexperienced player. At Washington won't be easy, but, unlike this season, our first really tough game isn't until we visit Penn St. in week 9.
