Agreed! Even though she is pretty hot!

I don't think he is an "Other", but I do believe he is not as innocent as he proclaims either. I think he knows quite a lot about the island, but has some other connection to it.

Interesting theory. As others have said, perhaps he is an Other but knows the story of the balloon. Another crazy possibility is that he is the money behind the Dharma initiative and wanted to come to the island to see hands-on what his project is shaping up to be?

or, perhaps the guy came to the island on the balloon and was then taken by the others and then since became one of them, thereby making both parts of the equation accurate.

also, i have missed some episodes from time to time, which isnt that big of a deal with the way the show moves slowly. What ever happened to Michael when he went out searching the jungle for Walt?

They haven't mentioned Michael since he left... when Jack, Locke and Sawyer went after him they ran into The Others in the woods and I think they said not to worry about him because Michael will never find them.

My wife and I joke about that every episode. He looks bigger each time. A few weeks ago, they had him eating out of a tub of ranch dressing. I wonder if he dies next week or if he was just dreaming about falling off the cliff.

If you look at the blast door map, you see that the hatch at the very bottom is the SWAN, and it seems pretty big. But what you also see is that all the hatches seem to connect to the BIG QUESTION MARK in the middle!!!!

The left side of the map refers to 'Cerberus' which has apparently had a malfunction. In Greek Mythology, Cerberus was a 3 headed dog, guardian of the underworld.

Perhaps this Cerberus is the 'security system'. The thing that rips big honking trees out of the ground.

So we now know the symbols of 4 of the 6 hatches:

Swan
Flame
Staff
Arrow

We also know that there were six types of experiments being done on the island by Dharma:

psychology (don't know significance)
parapsychology (explains visions and whispers??)
electromagnetism (explains magnetic field behind concrete wall)
meteorology (explains frequent, pop-up rain storms)
zoology (explains polar bears, horses, and shark w/ Dharma logo on it)
Utopian sociology (explains Others?)

I believe each hatch matches with one of these experiments. I also believe the meteorology and zoology hatches are the two we don't know the names of yet. As for the other four, I can only guess.

Swan--Electromagnetism (magnetic field behind concrete wall)
Flame--Psychology ("I think, therefore I am depressed" quote)
Staff--Utopian Society ("Lift up your hearts")
Arrow--Parapsychology (only through process of elimination)

I agree with the Cerberus being the security system.

What about the statement that the Black Rock is the known resting place of the Hasbro fellow? I don't know what to make of that.
