OK I guess the candidates are LSU,UGA, Ok, USC, VT, Mizzou?, WVU?, Kan, and Hawaii.
Looking first at the big boy 2 loss teams:
LSU: lost to 2 unranked teams with 9 losses between them; from a style points angle, have not been dominate since the VT game.
UGA: lost to 6-6 USCe and blown out by 21 by 9-4 Tennessee; have been dominating in second half of the season.
Oklahoma: lost to Colorado (7-5?) and Texas Tech (9-3?), not sure about the records; obviously looked great knocking off former #1 Mizzou.
USC: lost to 40 point dog Stanford, at home, with Stanford playing their backup qb; not much else needs to be said.
VT: prison raped by LSU early in season, lost to 10-3 BC at home; can't logically put them before LSU
Mizzou: 2 losses to OU, so no bad loss like the other 2 loss teams have; but hard to argue they belong in front of a team that beat them twice.
WVU: Lost to the Wannstache; seriously the fucking Wannstache; with the refs doing everything they could to hand them the game
Mizzou is the only one w/o a bad loss and as I said you really can't put them in ahead of OU.
The other two teams are 1 loss Kansas and undefeated Hawaii. Neither has played a good schedule; even OSU's schedule is SEC-tough in comparison.
So what do you consider more important, schedule or record. If there was one of the big boy 2 loss teams besides Mizzou w/o an embarassng loss, I'd give them the nod. But none of them qualify and none has a clear arguement over the others. So I'd go with Hawaii. This is the season of chaos and the upset, BSU did beat OU last year, so why not give the little guy a shot at the title.
