All through college my roommate and I would sing the Who Dey song.
Why do people get so upset that there are more people happy to talk about a 9-3 team than there are when the bengals were 1-11. It's obvious that's going to happen. There is more the cheer about. Kind of tough to be all cheers when your team is going 1-11.

Don't worry about BKB, he's just a bitter old man.

There are some Cincy fans who are not bandwaggoners, I'll admit. It's hard to decipher the real from the fake, but I do know this: I went almost 10 years without hearing "who dey," and now it won't stop.

Of course, Cleveland has that stupid barking. I'm at BW3 on Sunday, and my fellow Browns' fans are barking up a storm. I was so ashamed, especially because we lost.

Uh...there weren't exactly a ton of instances in the last 14 years that warranted a 'Who Dey' with the exception of a couple 8-8 seasons (and going .500 isn't what I would call 'Who Dey' or bragging material). Any chance for a 'Who Dey' was usually gone by the end of the 1st half each week. Considering the Bengals' best players over the decade prior to Marvin Lewis & Co. included Carl Pickens, the Shake N Blake, and Harold Green you would have to be a moron if you expected a bunch of 'Who Dey's'.

Don't be so defensive. That's the Bengal cheer, and I didn't hear it throughout a large period of time. Certainly, the main reason is that the Bengals were not very good. But who is there to cheer on the team through the down years. Who was there to say, "who dey?" I'm sure there were a few that said it - the true die hards that would get excited at the beginning of the year. But all I'm pointing out is that I never heard it during those years, and I think that says something about a few of the people out there that are calling themselves Bengals' fans. Not calling out anyone in particular.

FWIW, I remember all of the Indians' bandwaggoners in the mid to late 90s and I despised them.

Oh, there's plenty of Cavs' bandwaggoners as well. I know I can't prove it, but I've been a Cavs' diehard since I was about 10 watching Mark Price, Brad Daugherty, Larry Nance and Hot Rod Williams lose to the Bulls every year. All those guys I remember cheering on the Bulls are posing as Cavs' fans now. Pisses me off.

I don't ask for it both ways. I hate bandwaggoners in every sport in every city. Cincy is no different. Clevetown is no different. It's just annoying.

Calling some Bengal fans bandwagoners may be accurate, but I think there is a huge underestimation of the fan base in Cincy. This franchise which was professional in name only for 12 years prior to Lewis showing up, still managed to sell about 45,000-50,000 tickets each week. That's incredible considering how god awful this franchise was. Of course, you could also say that's proof how dumb Cincy fans are, and I won't disagree with you one bit b/c after living here I do believe many are morons.

Actually, if you're a true fan of the team, and not some bandwagon immigrant dune-monkey (like yourself), then a "Who Dey" or whatever fucking stupid-assed retarded first-grader saying you have is indeed warranted. True Buckeye fans were saying "Go Bucks!" even during the 6-6 season of 1999. Then again, Rashmish, you wouldn't know anything about being a true Buckeye fan.
