Who Are Your Top Players for 2008? (merged)

Kind of early for this, but I really like the following players: Adams, Adams, Torrence, Scott, McCarthy, and Nathan Williams.

The BPRT will put together an updated list of 2008 recruits some time after NLOID.

I actually put together one the other day and was just waiting for a time to post it so here it goes:

1. Mike Adams
2. DeVoe Torrence
3. D. McCarthy
4. Justin Staples
5. Cordale Scott
6. Nathan Williams
7. Shaq Rowell
8. Zebrie Sanders
9. Kyle Rudolph
10. Brandon Beachum
11. Domonik Britt
12. Jacob Stoneburner
13. Eric Magnacca
14. Trey Fairchild
15. Brandon Moore
16. Darius Ashley
17. Johnny Adams
18. DeVier Posey
19. Mark Stevens
20. Jahmir Williams
21. Fred Craig
22. Taylor Hill
23. Nic DiLillo
24. Michael Zordich
25. David Dick
26. Jerell Worthy
27. Steve Gardinier
28. Gary Thornton
29. Dawann Whitner
30. Sal Battles
31. Ryan Nathan

Keep in mind this is very early and there will be quite a bit of names, pop up and this is b4 watching film on many of these players.

Either way Ohio looks to be balanced and have a little bit of everything besides a stud big RB, and maybe a stud QB. I think the verdict is still out on Britt.

Mike Shaw, Ath/RB from Kettering-Alter is a name you will be hearing more of. also, has anyone heard about a DT from Lancaster-Chad Maynard-I seem to remember his name popping up on some early lists?

Shaw is an excellent player and a great guy. I camped with Shaw and hung with him quite a bit and whoever gets him is not just getting a great player, but a great all around person. He also hand an excellent year for a state finalist team, which will get him some recognition.

For Sures:

- Mike Adams

- Cordale Scott
- Nathan Williams
- Shaq Rowell
- Kyle Rudolph

Maybes:

- Zebrie Sanders
- Brandon Beachum
- Domonik Britt

- Trey Fairchild
- Brandon Moore
- Darius Ashley
- Johnny Adams
- DeVier Posey
- Jahmir Williams
- Fred Craig
- Taylor Hill

Camp is going to be huge for these guys next year...Heck the staff could make guys like Rowell, Staples, Scott, and Williams wait till camp. Should be interesting to see if they send any offers on signing day.

OLB
1. Brandon Beachum 6'1 215 4.6 Youngstown Cardinal Mooney
2. Jahimir Williams 6'2 210 4.6 Lima Senior
3. Fred Craig 6'2 205 4.5 Cincinnati St.Xavier
4. Mike Spooner 6'1 220 4.7 Lakewood St.Eds
5. Kevin Dahl 6'1 215 4.68 North Canton Hoover

I'll be interested to see what Fred is recruited as. St. X runs the 3-3-5 and although he may be listed as a LB, he really plays all over. I wouldnt be amazed to see him play SS in college.

I saw Craig play and was blown away. I was very impressed with him and would have had him higher but forgot to add him and was to lazy to revise it:biggrin: . I think he has the most upside from all the LB's in Ohio and I know the staff is very interested in him. He could also end up at safety. The only for sure offers are Adams, Torrence, McCarthy, Rudolph, Williams, Scott, and Rowell imo. Staples I guess I am just waiting to see before I pass judgement either way. Plus I am not sure how the grades are with the Glenville duo and Torrence did have horrendous grades but hopefully he has been working on them. I guess I'll go ahead and do position by position ratings:
QB:
1. Domonick Britt
2. Bart Tanski
3. Sal Battles
RB:
1. Darius Ashley
2. Gary Thornton
3. Ryan Nathan
4. Eric Magnacca
FB:
1. Steve Yoak
2. Jakeem Waters
WR:
1. Cordale Scott
2. Jake Stoneburner
3. DeVier Posey
4. Daniel Haddix
TE:
1. Brandon Moore
2. Kyle Rudolph
3. Nic DeLillo
4. Christian Hanna
OL:
1. Mike Adams
2. Zebri Sanders
3. Marc Stevens
4. Reggie Comeaux
5. Dewann Whitner
DE:
1. Nathan Williams
2. Justin Staples
DT:
1. Shawntell Rowell
2. Jerel Worthy
3. David Dick

Don't know how he ranks in Ohio, but Marvin Stewart (QB) from Beechcroft is one of the best QB's to come through the City League in 10+ years. May be one of the best in the state.

All homerism towards my own school aside, he is a great QB. Was getting looked at by many Big Ten schools, after his SOPHOMORE season. Those schools included Iowa and Penn State.

It's no secret that Oho is JT's bread and butter. I heard that Ohio should be loaded with talent next year. I'm just wondering how many of the kids on the lists should draw a four star rating?

It still amazes me that 714 high schools play football in the state of OH-IO.
Figure 50 kids per school average, thats 35,000+ kids. Only 15-20 may get an OSU offer.

Hey RB any chance you get a football or wrestling offer anywhere.

Marvin is a great QB, but Marvin needs to show and prove at the camps namely OSU camp. Though he may not come away with an OSU offer I guarantee he'll leave with many others. He will Camp at PSU and I think Wisc. At least that's what he told me. Wouldn't be suprised to see his name surface as an OSU recruit this summer.

This time next year we might easily forget about this year's "small" class and be thankful that it was smaller than expected.

Exactally, I think the only thing that is upsetting about this class is losing out on the number one player in Ohio and missing out DT's and and OT. Especially the fact that many were silent verbals and they slipped away.

But next year will be the year we bring in the big guys...
