Only the Pro careers should be considered.

Peyton Manning and Tom Brady are not on this list because they are still in the middle of their careers.

Times like this I wish I could time warp back to watch some of those guys actually play instead of guessestimating or heresay....

Elway
Marino
Montana
Unitas
Last spot's open for Manning, but I'll sub Favre in there for today at least....Any chance of saying Vince Young one day? Tom Brady will be a sure bet as well after all is said and done.

Otto Graham (a little Browns bias but he won a ton of games)
Troy Aikman (just a winner)
Sonny Jurgensen (probably was the best pure passer ever)
Roger Staubach (see Aikman)
Bart Starr (a great leader and a very good QB)

I did not vote for some guys because I believed their surrounding casts made them very good QBs.

I went with:

Unitas
Elway
Montana
Graham
Baugh
I could not pick Johnny U because he got shut out in the 1964 championship game. A great QB when not left that happen. He would find a way. Elway was probably the best all-around athlete but I could not see him as one of the five greatest QBs. Never saw slinging Sammy so he was hard to judge.
Montana would be my #6.

John Elway- winner, greatest 4th quarter qb of all-time
Brett Favre- loved his gunslinger mentality, didn't back down to anybody, and of course the streak, was the cal ripkin( games played), and hank aaron(most passing yards etc.) of his sport.
Dan Marino- has to be on the list because of his pure numbers alone, he was the greatest statistical qb ever, but he just couldn't win the big one. Sill has to be in the top five in my opinion though.
Roger staubach-the pride of purcell marian high school right here in cincinnati ohio. One at navy (heisman winner), and one in the pros. He was mr. comback. He was the john elway of his era before elway was elway. If that makes any since at all.
Joe namath- he one a super with the least attractive stat line for his career 77 wins 108 losses and 173 touchdowns and 220 touchdowns. And some how managed to make it 13 years in the league now that impressive. Also one a national title at alabama. More importantly i thought he was one of the pioneers of the game and made it what it is today while playing in the old AFL.:oh::io:

Montana - I still remember being about 10 years old and watching him take that hit that pretty much stalled out his career. Sad day for football fans there.

Elway - My best friend is a Raiders fan. I miss him making Oakland fans miserable.

Aikman - I'm a Cowboys fan. This is a given... Of course, he was also pretty good.

Marino - #2 in just about every record must mean something.

Manning (Peyton type) - I know he's not on the voting list, but he will be someday.
