This year, I'm setting odds for each team, so if you want to create your own combination odds that can be done with your wagering.

This vBet will be open until this Saturday at noon.

Would have liked to have watched the BYU game this weekend first.

The odds for BYU would have come way down after that game, and SD State's would have gone way up. Somebody willing to bet on Jimmer's Cougars before Saturday could be in line for a nice payout (and you're the only one that bet on them). :wink2:

But even though they're now slotted as a #1 by a lot of talking heads, I think BYU needs to win out, and have Duke lose again, in order to get a #1 seed. Duke has to play at N. Carolina to close the regular season, so they'll probably drop that game.

tOSU, Pitt, and Kansas all look good for #1 seeds right now, but if any of those teams lose this week and don't reach the final of their conference tourney, they could drop to a #2.

BYU as a 1 seed is a stretch.

I copied your post from yesterday's game thread in order to get some discussion on BYU as a #1 seed in here.

I was surprised to see that BYU is now #1 in the RPI, but even more surprised to see that they have a 9-1 record against other teams in the RPI-top-50. That's the most wins and the best record against the top-50 for anybody.

They may not end up with one, but they have more of an argument for a #1 seed than I thought they had before I looked up the RPI info.

RPI

BYU is 6th in kenpom as of today. Why Duke is #2 is a mystery to me.

ND just pummeled Nova at home, 93-72.

20 3-point FGs (32 attempts). Hansbrough went 7-10 (30 points), Abromaitis went 9-13 (30 points)

Hansbrough also had 11 assists as well. Impressive. Although I will say that I am just as unimpressed with Villanova. I think they've lost every time I've seen them play.

Or at least not covered the spread. :paranoid:

I asked the same question to a friend of mine who swears by KenPom ratings and he basically told me that there is a home-court advantage boost that tends to show up unexpectedly in the overall rankings. Schools like Kentucky, Tennessee and Purdue also get major boosts because of it. I don't know if that's true, but it would make sense.

Duke easily has the worst losses of any of the #1 seed contenders, but they've arguably got the toughest home-court around.
