Where is Your OSU Flag Flying

Good story 4u.

I was driving for vacation last week through By god WV and had my car flag flying (as is my tradition the week of a big game). This is the same flag that drove with me and my wing man at 135 mph across the desert from a night of debauchery in Vegas to the Fiesta Bowl NC in '03. This flag has seen some serious miles and many victories. Two trips to AA, a NC victory. It is a trooper worthy of all of my respect.

Fast forward to a toll booth on I-64 in Huntington WV. I roll through the toll booth and accidentally roll the back window down. My flag is right in the middle of the toll traffic in the rain. I am heart broken.

I pull over to the far right and think about my options here. I can risk life and limb and cross 5 lanes of heavy traffic to rescue my fallen friend. Now this is a major toll, full of pissed off truckers people traveling for the Holiday weekend. I thought about calling 911, I mean it was a valid reason to call the cops but I was sure that they would be fucking Mountaineer fans and steal my flag. Not an option.

Then it struck me. My wingman is driving 5 min behind me with his three kids and wife, I will just call him. Perfect! I give him the exact location of my flag, the exact booth, what the guy looked like who took my money, relative wind speed and distance beyond the gate. I did all I could do.

5 min later I get the call. My bud stopped the truck int he middle of the Highway! He got out amidst the honks and jeers on the unaware and rescued my fallen friend. It is the reason that we beat the Domers and I am sure of it.

That flag was run over multiple times but it is still loud and proud in my garage. I had a little ceremony (by myself, my wife thinks I am nuts) and retired him to a special place. But, when the occasion is right, he might come out of retirement. So if you see a car with a tattered flag duck taped to a window of a car with Ohio plates you know it is me.

GO BUCKS!!!!!
