When does "great offense" equal crappy defense?

And yet, OSU is on pace to match the rushing production of Woody's best teams throughout the 70's this year.
Setting aside the fact that Beano's post was made last season, not last week, I'm not sure it was ever intended to be taken seriously in the first place.

He'll probably check back with Woody, Rockne and Bo to respond at some point.

This on the heels of TCU allowing 24 points in the final 10 minutes to blow a 21 point lead at Baylor, 61-58. Can't touch receivers, can't hit quarterbacks, offensive linemen can use their hands (but they don't hold, of course), maybe we should make the defense play with only 10 guys, too? :roll1:

If this is what's popular now I'm surprised Arena Football hasn't taken off because it's been that way for years - two defensive stops usually win the game. It's a shame defense is "boring" to Average Joe, who can't stand strategy like field position, etc., and just needs to see someone run uncontested into the end zone every 4 minutes. :excited:

as an LSU fan, I've grown to hate offense in general.

Western Kentucky leads Marshall 49-35 and it's not even halftime. Both teams are averaging over 10 yards per play - which isn't so tough with tackling this atrocious - but I'm sure some fans are just loving it. It's like an NBA game to me. Let me know when there are 5 minutes left on the clock and I'll watch to see who wins.

EDIT: check that, it's now 49-42 and it's still not halftime :excited:

Picky, picky, picky, sorry, but I have to ask: are we talking about 9 - 10 game seasons vs 12 to 14, or is this on a per game basis. Actually as I think about it, the game was so much slower in tempo then and the passing game was no where near the sophistication that most college teams play today so it shouldn't surprise me even on a per game basis.

It's not 107-90 but from the looks of things the Memphis-Cincinnati affair hasn't been a display of defensive football. Over 1,300 yards of offense and 99 points. The legendary Hayden Moore is setting records for the Juggalos with over 550 passing yards. :excited:

The defenses played really well for about half the 3rd qtr. The rest of the game, yeah, not so much...
