What would you do if you had a million dollars (merged)?

What would you do with 1 million dollars?

Prompted by the famous similar questioning in Office Space, what would you do if you won a million dollars? I am poor so I think of this unlikely scenario at least once, 45 times a week, so I thought I'd ask.

I would pay off all my student loans, my car (consider a 2007 black Viper), my f'ing credit card, buy OSU football season tickets for next year, spend about a grand on new teacher gear, take my g/f to Brazil with me, buy the engagement ring I'm just starting to save for, buy a small house in CBus, and invest the rest. I figure I'd come out with around $600,000 left to spare easy.

Sort of puts your economic life in perspective. A million dollars really isn't much anymore. I'd keep on working and living my normal life. Maybe open up a business in a couple years after some research.

Slightly stupid and cliche, but at the same time, kind of a fun question to just wonder and dream a bit.

Honestly i'd probably invest it somewhere and turn it into a lot more than 1 million. Spending it on cars and vacations would be fun for a little bit, but would eventually just drain it all away and put me back to where I was to begin with.

Paying off student loans, not good use of money.

The old saying is borrow on appreciating assets. (education, home, etc...)
Pay cash on depreciating ones.(cars, etc...)

That being said with a sudden cash infusion of $1,000,000 I would.....

give 10% to charity, including enough to guarantee football tickets

Pay off any consumer debts I have. (very insignificant)

give 10% to family (education funds for nephews, niece, purchase dad his dream car)

upgrade auto situation but nothing fancy. (less than 10%)

Buy a new house and rent current house out to brother.

Start at least one small business.

Invest Invest Invest.
