And then "delirious December" of courseBUCKYLE;1591412; said:Nice work. I have my "Ought Not to shave August", which rolled right into "Stop shaving September", which, not surprisingly, quickly developed into "Atrocious October"...and, of course, No Shave November.

I can recall leaving the Texas, USC and 1998 MSU games with a sense of calm even though they were losses. For some reason I had more appreciation for having seen a great football game and what the other team had accomplished. I don't feel that way after a TV loss - that is just anger and depression.
On the other hand, when I leave the Shoe after a big win there is a sense of euphoria that is unmatched by anything I have ever gotten from TV. I have been lucky enough to be at the 1998 Rose Bowl, 2002 NC and 2006 UM games. I can still feel the emotion from those games.
A social experience? That's what baseball is for. When I'm at the game, its a social experience for me. The game isn't an afterthought, but it takes a backseat to the whole experience of hanging out with good friends and making memories.
When I'm at home, it's just me and the game (even if we're having a huge party). I don't really like that too much because I rarely have a good time unless we're bitch-slapping the opponent, or we win a big game and continue the party afterward. Whenever we watch a game at my buddy's place, his fiance sets up an "angry" room upstairs with a separate TV. If you feel the urge to take out your rage in private or isolate yourself, you go to the angry room.
BTW, I'm wearing a sweatervest. I'm doing my part.
