What WILL YOU do to beat Iowa?!?
Yep, I'm on the same plan. Except I have 2006 and 2008 scUM games still recorded, as well as "The Rivalry" by HBO.

edit: oh and I'm going to email taunt this Iowa chick that I... knew one time. That and keep my no-shave November going...
Nice work. I have my "Ought Not to shave August", which rolled right into "Stop shaving September", which, not surprisingly, quickly developed into "Atrocious October"...and, of course, No Shave November.

And then "delirious December" of course

For all you BP'er's out there who are fortunate to go to the "Shoe' to watch a game, is the gut wrenching re-action any different?, if you are watching the game at home, compared to the feeling you have when you are at the "Shoe watching the game? Are you more sub-dued and relaxed at the game?, or do you get an up-tight feeling if you have to watch the game at home.

When the Buckeyes were playing all the games in Florida during the 90's i felt pretty calm when i went to the Citrus Bowl and the games in Tampa. But then if i was home i got all nervous. That may sound stupid to have that feeling but that just me I guess. Your thoughts.

Interesting question. When I am home I get very emotional - and frustrated if things are not going well. I don't get nearly as uptight if I am at the game.

I can recall leaving the Texas, USC and 1998 MSU games with a sense of calm even though they were losses. For some reason I had more appreciation for having seen a great football game and what the other team had accomplished. I don't feel that way after a TV loss - that is just anger and depression.

On the other hand, when I leave the Shoe after a big win there is a sense of euphoria that is unmatched by anything I have ever gotten from TV. I have been lucky enough to be at the 1998 Rose Bowl, 2002 NC and 2006 UM games. I can still feel the emotion from those games.

Glad that you think this is an interesting question. Maybe more responses would be in order if this was in a seperat thread. Just my opinion. I hope we can get more input into this posts.

I feel the momentum of the game better while in the stadium. It's weird. you would think it would be the same as on the tv, but especially the USC, Ill, and Wisky games you could just feel what was gonna happen. When USC completed that pass to McKnight, I could have left if I went by feelings because it felt like they won right there. Then the Ill interception, you could feel the whole game change. then wisky you could just feel like they were gonna find a way to score at the end of the half. The second half had a completely different feel then when there was 3 minutes left in the first half. Just something about feeling all of the other fans emotions that get you more fired up for good things and throw your heart in your gut when something bad happens, for me at least. It still is one of those experiences that I will never take for granted though..... Going to watch my team play in person, especially in the shoe. I'm getting so fired up just thinking about tomorrow.

When I'm at the game, its a social experience for me. The game isn't an afterthought, but it takes a backseat to the whole experience of hanging out with good friends and making memories.

When I'm at home, it's just me and the game (even if we're having a huge party). I don't really like that too much because I rarely have a good time unless we're bitch-slapping the opponent, or we win a big game and continue the party afterward. Whenever we watch a game at my buddy's place, his fiance sets up an "angry" room upstairs with a separate TV. If you feel the urge to take out your rage in private or isolate yourself, you go to the angry room.

BTW, I'm wearing a sweatervest. I'm doing my part.

A social experience? That's what baseball is for.

When I'm at the game it's constant screaming. I'm on my feet during the pre-game. I'm screaming whenever we are on defense. I try to get others around me to get loud, too. I focus in on every play, and never leave my seat. I complain and scream at the refs a lot.

I do the same thing when I'm watching at home though. I get angrier at home and lose hope quicker at home too. When i'm at the game, I ALWAYS believe we can do it. I never give up. I think a positive vibe in the stadium is important. I know the stadium attitude affects the team. I have witnessed it. I have felt the crowd cause a defensive turnover.

Actually, I think it was against Iowa a few years back, there was a situation where Iowa was in the North endzone backed up to the 1. These are where our seats are. The place was so loud. The noise was so thick that you would think it was weighing down the air. You could feel it in your body. And Iowa felt it, too. The fumbled, we recovered. 7 points for the stadium. It was intense. The players feed off of that stuff.

Ohio Stadium is something so special that words can't even explain it. I tear up thinking about experiences with my father there. I'm sad that tomorrow will be the last time i'll be seeing a game in there for almost a year. If somebody asked me to define the word magical, i'd just tell them to go to an OSU game in November. I can't wait to scream my ass off tomorrow!!! GO BUCKS!!!!!!!!
