I think they have a shot at an 11 seed, which are usually some of the last big schools to make it in. If they beat MSU and win 2 tourney games... that would put them with a good enough resume, with quality wins over MSU, Purdue, Cuse and Florida.
It really depends on what teams those 20 wins came against and a variety of other factors.OmahaBeef;1108534; said:Isn't 20 wins the standard amount to expect to get into the NCAA Tourney?
I was thinking with 23 wins and at least one good win (last night) that our chances should be pretty good.
Am I off base with this?
the big ten has 18 conference regular season games this year. traditionally they have 16 games...Isn't 20 wins the standard amount to expect to get into the NCAA Tourney?

Well considering we'll have the auto-bid for winning the conference tourney, yes, I'd say our chances would be pretty good with 23 wins (ie winning out)I was thinking with 23 wins and at least one good win (last night) that our chances should be pretty good.

Since we most likely have locked up the #5 seed we will probably play MSU in the first tournament game. So beating them twice in 5 days will make it even sweeterjwinslow;1108578; said:Well considering we'll have the auto-bid for winning the conference tourney, yes, I'd say our chances would be pretty good with 23 wins (ie winning out)![]()
We can't get to 23 wins even if we win the Big 10 tournament... can we
Quarterfinals = 1 gamejwinslow;1108593; said:We're 18-12. Beat MSU, and finish 19-12. Then win all 4 rounds of the tourney, and we get to 23...

Total games played in Big 10 tournament = 3 games or am I still
Also, if we do not make it to the NCAA tournament (which we will) I do not think we can play a opening round at the Schott because of the Ohio basketball championships or am I still I thought we played a game, or at least the women did, at St. John:tongue2:
I guess some of my logic was being based on the fact that I think Tubby's boys have to play at Indiana and at Wisconsin or is something very close to that.BB73;1108672; said:If Minny also wins out, tOSU could still be the #6 seed and have to play 4 rounds - so 23 wins is possible, but would definitely lock up an automatic berth.

). Unlikely they'll win both, but it allows the possibility of 23 wins.jwinslow;1108578; said:Well considering we'll have the auto-bid for winning the conference tourney, yes, I'd say our chances would be pretty good with 23 wins (ie winning out)![]()
