Either you know your stuff or you pulled that outta your ass because it's just about the saddest classical piece I know. I wouldn't listen to it if I was having a bad day.

I am impressed!

Actually it's a Spinal Tap quote and "D minor is the saddest of all keys" according to Nigel Tufnel. :p

However, I do know the song and it is a favorite of mine. I used to play it on guitar many years ago...

EDIT: I actually dug out the sheet music to relearn this song several weeks ago. Unfortunately, my sheet music reading skills are not good at all anymore.

Beethoven Piano Sonata No. 14 in C sharp minor
okay, we've had our disagreements, gdow. heck, i didn't even read your last pm. discarded it. so be it. but i must give you props for the moonlight sonata. that's my favorite piece (as well as brandenburg concerto no. 3 and beethoven's piano concerto no. 5). it's simple but extremely moving and supremely depressing.

listen to rachmaninoff's piano concerto no. 2: adagio sostenuto, which is what i'm listening to now. you may understand why i selected this piece in regard to how you feel about the moonlight sonata. greenies if you tell me why.
