What song are you listening to right now

The Killers with basically their version of a Hillbilly Elegy:

Didn’t realize just how on-the-nose this comment was, as I have since listened to their full new album
“West Hills”which is all about the out-west small-town where their singer came from, including local-color oral-history snippets (that actually work), with several of the songs explicitly about opioids/“hillbilly heroin pills” and a let’s-say Springsteenian appreciation for the contemporary rural experience. This is a really beautiful (and not un-critical) album, including one heartbreaker with the luminous Phoebe Bridgers (“Runaway Horses”). I just hope Brandon Flowers never decides to get into politics.

Hell yeah...

30 years later that stuff hasn't lost a bit of its zip.

I get shivers down my back still now listening. That's an entire album's worth of anthems. That's not a small feat.
The Black album was the beginning of the end for us "hipster" Metallica fans, liked them before they were famous. I was happy that they achieved mainstream success but it changed them forever just like 1984 changed Van Halen forever.
