If I had to point out one thing that makes a team successful, from first hand experiance, I would say that it is having great coaching, and having complete trust in what they do for you and how they prepare you.

Using the 2002 Buckeyes as an example would be great. "Leadership" from top to bottom was a key here, as was great coaching and a great team attitude. Go back to the day that Mike Doss announced that as a two-time All-American that he was returning for his senior season. THAT was what got the ball rolling for the Buckeyes. Having Mike stay in school and vow to shoot for a National Championship, in my opinion, fired this group up to succeed like nothing else. Having a player of his caliber pass up millions of dollars to stay in school had a huge influence on the players around him, and the National Tiltle was theirs. "Leadership."
