What is your favorite TV show of all time

since MTV has come up - does anyone remember the British show they used to have on there called The Young Ones? I used to really love that show. Although it was inconsistent, when it was funny, it was DAMN funny.

Kids in the Hall, same way.

ok, I am resurrecting this thread but for a decent reason I think. One of my favorite older tv shows was Greatest American Hero. I have spent a lot of today browsing the "play it now on xbox" section of Netflix and ran across this tv show. I know I really liked the show but I am reluctant to actually watch it now, because it was actually a pretty BAD show, and I don't want to ruin my memories. Does anyone else have this kind of feeling about any of the shows you may have mentioned earlier in this thread? How many people have gone back to watch a favored show after many years? Were you disappointed or still liked it just as much?

  1. All in the Family
  2. Seinfield
  3. MASH
  4. The Sopranos
  5. Cheers
The first 5 seasons of All in the family were the best thing that TV has ever put out. That show was stellar taking a look at race, religion and the 60's-70's vietnam. Had some of the laugh out loud moments that no other show other than Sienfield matched. Amazing show.

Agreed. 'All In The Family' would definately make my top-10. Archie Bunker would probably be a top-5 character.

Don't stop with Archie. Edith, Meathead, Gloria, The Jeffersons (spawned the TV show), Frank. They all were great. Some of the stuff they did on Race and Homosexuality was WAY before their time. Cutting edge.

Keep in Mind that this was 1974...
