What is the Best Board Game Ever?

Ok... a little off the board game topic, but right on the geek game topic:

Have any of you ever played the collectible card game Illuminati: New World Order by Steve Jackson?

Fun times. Has to be on the my top games list.

Not mentioned yet:

Aggravation
Sorry
Connect Four ('vertical board game')
Chinese Checkers

I agree with Risk, Clue, Monopoly, Statego, and Chutes and Ladders

Yes, I tried Illuminati -- not bad, but it never caught on in our college clique when we tried it out 15 years ago because we all were too heavily invested in Magic. :tongue2:

We've moved on to non-collectible card games. Killer Bunnies and the Quest for the Magic Carrot is the top game right now.

Illuminati? Illuminati? There is no Illuminati.

We're all :nerd:

I still have my original set of Advanced Dungeons and Dragons books from the early 80's.

Okay, I only named one, which I consider to be the 'best' due to relative ease in learning, relatively quick gameplay (<2 hrs) and balance. All of you self proclaimed 'board game geeks' (which I would also classify as) need to get Settlers of Catan. Seriously, it's an excellent game.

Now, as for a few others which I've enjoyed over the years:

Axis and Allies (the original 'whole world' version)
Shogun
Civilization (the original, not the Sid Meiers game based on the comp. game)
King Maker (classic 'bookcase' game, imo)
