What games this year worry you the most?

(Besides the obvious 3 - Michigan, @Texas, @Iowa)

1. @ Michigan State. They have revenge of a blown game fresh in their mind and QB that could potentially be dangerous if he doesnt get frustraited. So the plan here is to blitz, blitz, blitz in the first quarter and get him so upset he does what he did last year - get upset and start throwing INTs into their foes backfield.

Game that I worry least about, that should be HUGE:

Penn State. I feel the only reason we lost last year was off the QB platoon used early along with the jumbling of the O-Line. We never knew who would be where and who was the leader of the offense. Having lost one big night game a few weeks prior due to the same stuff its a hard pill to swallow. However, in the same retrospect, if Hamby hadnt missed the block off the end to cause that fumble, Mr. Wizzard himself had the abilities to get a scoring drive going late in the 4th (ie. Michigan and Fiesta Bowl). We get them at home, likely at night and payback is a mother. Troy Smith and the O should be clicking (barring no injuries) and our defense should be up to speed. If we contain whats left of that offense and stomp the defense, this could be the game to give us enough motivation for the rest of an undefeated season!

tressel hyped the team last year, he's being more hesitant this year. Fortunately, the road to the NC game should be easier, tho still a challenging one.

Tressel is absolutely right in doing it the way he's doing it right now.

Losses are easier to absorb than what seem to be broken promises.

Love the silence right now--from JT on down.

Texas - there home field, ya no vince young, but still very quick

Michigan State - there have a lot of senior leader ship on that team from last year

Penn State - loss of qb, but still big ten opener

Scum - hungry for win, but Carr is a closet OSU fan

1. Iowa - This is the most important game on the schedule. @Texas is a great match up against a good team, of course, but @Iowa will determine the Big-10 champion, the Big Tens automatic BCS qualifying spot, and occurs late enough in the season to eliminate OSU from the national title picture if they don't get the W.

2. Texas - This is arguably the more difficult game, but really it just boils down to a glitzy prime time showcase for Troy Smith's Heisman Campaign against the defending national champs. Who wins and who loses will ultimately have little bearing on either teams' season.

3. Penn State - PSU isn't giving up football just because Michael Robinson left. There's still a ton of talent here, especially at WR to make life miserable for an Ohio State secondary still learning on the job in the Big Ten opener.

4. Michigan State - Sparty upsets somebody every year. Is it Ohio State's turn in 2006?

None

To me, the answer is none.

If you ask which I think we might lose, I will give you scUM, Iowa, MSU, and Texas. But I don't really worry, mostly because there is no bad news about the team that make me worry. I worry the most when we have self-inflicted stuidities that prohibit us to realize the team's potential. Examples are Troy's $500 incident and MoC saga. Not to blame anyone, but, last year's losses wouldn't be that bad if TS was playing from the start. Losses in 2003 wouldn't be that bad had MoC had any sense in him. Next, I worry when we have too many injuries. So far this year, I have seen none of those. I'll be happy to take any loss if the team plays to its potential.

This doesn't mean I am not passionate about the game. It's just that I know worrying too much is not healthy to your body.

Besides, what's to worry about? We'll cruise through to the dessert this year.

Just for fun, I'm ranking all the games.

1. @Iowa - OSU struggles in Big10 night games away from Ohio Stadium (see recent Northwestern games). Iowa will have the "revenge factor" on their side, especially Drew "temper-tantrum" Tate.

2. @Texas - Again, night game away from Ohio Stadium. Very interesting game of matchups... our high-powered offense vs. UT's fast defense... our young defense vs. UT's young QB's and now not-so-deep RB stable.

3. Michigan - Rivalry. Looking to reverse recent history. A loss may put Llloyd's head on the chopping block if he doesn't produce results in the next few years.

4. Penn State - I think many "experts" are underestimating these guys. Like Dryden said, the experienced WR vs. our young DB's is the most concerning matchup in this game. Our line needs to get pressure on the QB to help neutralize that threat.

5. @Michigan State - Drew Stanton and company will look to finish what they started last year. Our young secondary will be tested heavily in this game. Our offense should tear up MSU's defense. This could be one of those first team to 40 points wins games (though I don't think our defense will allow that many points).

6. @Northwestern - Out of the rest of the games, this one could potentially give us problems with the type of offense NW runs. Again, our offense should light up the scoreboard but the question will be how our defense performs.

7. Minnesota - They should be comparable to NIU in the toughness scale, put them ahead because they are a Big10 team

8. Northern Illinois - Even with all-world RB Garrett Wolfe they will have a tough time running on our defense and will be forced to throw. I'm confident this will be a good building block for our secondary and linebackers.

And the rest (no comments)...
9. @ Illinois
10. Bowling Green
11. Indiana
12. Cincinnati
