What Brands Are You Loyal To?

That shit is on every god damned channel. Interesting fact: the French make way more tourism dollars off the empty palaces of the royals that they beheaded than the English do off the living parasites they call the royal family. Something to think about, Brits.

I think one of the responses was "the second amendment"

Well, my streak of always buying Allen Edmonds on sale is stopped at 10. Just paid full price for a pair of sneakers in burgundy Horween football grain (Horween makes the leather for the NFL balls). They can be resoled, so I got that goin' for me.

Someone once asked me, why would you ever pay $300 bucks for a pair of shoes? You'd have to actually slip your feet into them and walk around to understand. Once you've experienced good shoes you can never go back.

I mostly work from home now, so my workday "outfit" is usually joggers and a hockey jersey or hoodie. I'll never buy a pair of joggers other than these...

the most comfortable pants you can fart in.

If you take good care of them, they’ll last a long time. So really you get a similar, or better, ROI than buying cheap or mid priced shoes.

Death to Dainite! I finally decided to do something about the rock hard Dainite soles that so many high end footwear makers are in love with. They wreck your feet, and you take your life into your own hands walking across a slightly damp office lobby. My cobbler suggested these from Vibram, and I picked up my Islays yesterday. Super comfortable, way more grip and the profile is almost as low so that for all anyone can tell they have leather soles. Dropping off the Moltons for the switch this week.

I once paid $250 for a pair of casual wear shoes from Nordstrom's and they lasted me nearly 15 years, didn't wear them everyday of course but I got a lot of miles on them and they felt so good on my feet. Paying for good shoes is an investment into your health as bad shoes can really do a lot of damage. It's the one thing that I splurge on.
