Just a damned good read. The Northern Generals were dumbasses and pussies. The Southern ones were good, but also lucky a lot of times.

The fuck you say?!

I don't recall the United States Military Academy being for fuckwits, and you're more than welcome to have a "conversation" with me outside and we'll see who's the pussy.

I know, I know...I'm not much of a reader but we watched Angels & Demons and The DaVinci Code last weekend and I just decided to pick this up when I was walking through a Wal-Mart.

Devil in the White City was phenomenal.

I think I might reread everything I have by David Feherty next as I get ready for The Masters.

Oh, and finally knocking out 1776 (it's been sitting in a pile of books people had bought for me) while I wait for a couple of library reservations to come through. It's pretty good, if nothing much new.

Certainly you and your fellow Ohioan, General Grant, turned that around. I should have clarified that I meant 1961-1963

Just starting this, but so far it's pretty good.

Are you making an effort of going through non-USA 19th century literature? I remember that you read Robinson Crusoe a while back.

I'm actually doing the 19th century thing. I've read Robinson Crusoe, Jane Eyre, Wuthering Heights, Frankenstein, Madame Bovary, Pride and Prejudice, Sense and Sensibility, and Mansfield Park in the last few months. I just started Emma, the 4th and last Jane Austen novel published before her death (I'm not sure if I'll read the other two).

I'll be ready for some Dickens and Dumas soon. I read Crime and Punishment and The Brothers Karamozov a few years ago, so I won't do those again.

I've been reading classics for a few years, tying to read them roughly in publication order, so I started with Homer's stuff and the ancient Greek plays, and I've slowly progressed through the centuries over the years.

I read best-sellers, also, I grab a classic when I don't have a book from the current authors that interests me.
