"The Lemur" - Benjamin Black

Black (aka Banville) brings his noirish high-society family psychodrama from 1950s Ireland to modern-day NYC. Very short book, only about 130 pages, so it's not as absorbing as his other books, but the short chapters keep the action moving along swiftly.

I recently got The Winners Manual and am starting to work my way through it. I love what I've read so far, and will hopefully be able to stick with it once I'm down at Disney.

Just finished Shutter Island by Dennis Lehane and am starting The Brothers Karamazov by Fyodor Dostoevsky. I've read most of what Lehane has written, and really enjoyed this book - it's original to what he has done in the past, but still has that authentic ear for the way folks talk around Boston.

Having read both, I hope that you are reading the unabridged version. Although it makes a long book even longer, The Count of Monte Cristo is great enough that you don't want the half-version.
