I'm still using first gen XBox 360 with a whopping 12GB HD...and yes i got this at the original release. At this point in my life, I don't have a lot of time for gaming, so when i do get to play i want some Halo, sports games, or other RPG type games (Skyrim, Assassin's Creed). So from that list, i can get all the games on either platform except Halo. Also, I want something that has Netflix, HBO GO, and other integration built it.
I do think PS4 is going to kick XBox One in sales for about the first 1.5-2 years just because of sale price and all the bad rep it went through at first. I eventually think the XBox will take control again, just like it seems to always do. People will realize the exclusive games are awesome, but the main thing that will drive people towards XBox is all the integration they will gave 1-2+ years down the road. They already have all the Windows 8 integration where you can use Smartglass, tablets, phone, etc to enhance gameplay and experience. Microsoft also announced the partnership with the NFL to bring a "brand new experience" to watching NFL games. You know Microsoft is going to expand those partnerships to other sporting worlds, and industries. Microsoft has a lot more pull in the world of technology than Sony does just because of what they can offer with Windows 8. XBox Live is also much better than anything Sony can currently offer, and that is not changing anytime in the future.
I'm not saying the PS4 will be any less inferior; I'm sure it will be equal, if not better than the Xbox in terms of graphics, processing, etc. In years to come, Microsoft will make the XBox something we haven't seen before while the PS4 will just be a gaming machine with bluray player and internet access.
Just my 2 cents.

What's slightly less known is that PS3 has also sold more consoles than the XBox360.
So I don't know where you get the idea that XBox has ever had control.

Because it has trailed for its entire life span until last month. Of course both are decimated by the original wii sales, which only emphasizes how inexcusable the game title support is for the system. Then again I suppose they are laughing and swimming in their vault of gold.Buckeye Maniac;2350050; said:Playstation 2 is the best selling console of all time, so it goes without saying that PS2 blew the original XBox out of the water.

After more than six years of playing catch up, lifetime PlayStation 3 sales have passed lifetime Xbox 360 sales to become the second bestselling home console for the seventh generation. According to VGChartz latest sales data the PlayStation 3 has sold 77,313,472 units to date, while the Xbox 360 has sold 77,311,669 units.
The PlayStation 3 first launched on November 11, 2006, nearly one year after the Xbox 360, which launched on November 22, 2005.
The gap was just over five million units when the PlayStation 3 launched, but it grew to more than eight million units as the PlayStation 3 struggled to take off when it first launched. However, after the first console redesign, price cuts and major software releases the PlayStation 3 started outselling the Xbox 360 on a weekly basis.
In 2010, the PlayStation 3 managed to catch up by 600,000 units and in 2011 by nearly 900,000 units. In 2012, the PlayStation 3 sold 12.73 million units, while the Xbox 360 managed to sell 11.10 million units. In just the first five months of 2013 the PlayStation 3 has outsold the Xbox 360 by one million units.
The Wii, the bestselling home console for the seventh generation, is 22.35 million units ahead of the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. However, the PlayStation 3 has caught up by 2.50 million units in just five months.
Remember MGS is now being released for the Xbox too. M$ should have an advantage in the US, but Sony should have an advantage worldwide. Just like this last generation.Dryden;2350122; said:As for next gen, what it's really going to come down to is the exclusives since Microsoft will not have a built-in lead with existing CoD players on Live! subs. Halo, Gears, Forza, and Fable vs Gran Turismo, Uncharted, God of War, and Metal Gear Solid.

Sucks it would have been awesome to see what developers could have done with those 2 games had they had enough time to get them on the new hardware
