What are you currently watching on TV?

Lol, I thought about coming back to amend my “totally in” position after the first couple episodes: I was in and then out pretty quick. I was hoping for more of an old Hollywood noir-ish thing than it turned out to be.

Agreed. To the best I can tell, it bears no resemblance to the original show. And then it’s littered with unnecessary nudity and violence, as only HBO can do. It’s a good enough cast, but I’m really just not sure why the show even exists.

It really is just another HBO show. I think I read it was written as a completely separate treatment but then had the “Perry Mason backstory” overlaid onto it. You know, by those dastardly studio honchos, see.

Just saw an old episode of Bonanza where a prospector (Lee Marvin) makes Adam work his mine:

I'm enjoying Star Trek Lower Decks more than I probably should. I'm not sure what the demo is for this show, but I'm guessing it's the small number of Trekkies that also like Rick and Morty. My dad loves Trek, but I can't imagine him watching a cartoon.

2020 Tour de France has been very entertaining! Usually the early week is just about sprinting and flat roads but this year we have a change-up and have been climbing a lot taking the sprinters out of the action.

I'm watching the movie version of Friday Night Lights. I have some real questions about Billy Bob Thornton's coaching and leadership ability. During a practice he lets Tim McGraw come down from the stands onto the football field and slap around his son and he doesn't say anything. Then that same player gets in another fight with another player and he doesn't say anything. Then he runs an Oklahoma drill.
