What are you currently watching on TV?

I got the first season of Weeds from the library. Watched the first episode last night, hated it, probably return it tomorrow. My hold on season 3 of Breaking Bad finally arrived, got Deadwood too.

Weeds get better; the first 3 seasons or show it was one of my favorite shows of all time. It jumps the shark after a certain pool scene IMO but was a big fan of it; stick it out a couple more and you may enjoy it more.

Has anyone watched AMCs new show "Turn?" I've only seen a commercial, but it looks pretty interesting. Like a spy show set in the Revolutionary War era from what I can tell. Just curious if anyone checked it out and if it was worth a watch.

Yeah, I'm hooked. I watch anything that purports to be history or is historical fiction. The show does a good job of showing how loyalties were tested among community members, friends, and family. There's something for buffs of millitary stuff, drama, spying, etc. and there is an attempt to show how sex was part of the day, and there is a non-sexual (so far) love triangle that adds tension to the story. The main character, Abe, was in love with, and engaged to, Hannah, a rebel spy, but Abe's loyalist father worked against the relationship, and Abe married a woman he is committed to, but is not necessarily in love with. But Abe and Hannah have a relationship via spying with their prior, and now forbidden, love as a background context.

I am also liking "Vikings" and "The Americans".

What are you guys watching that is hilarious?

With 30 rock, psych and the office gone (unofficially years ago), community ending and parks getting close, I am in comedy withdrawal. Big Bang can be good but can also be just okay. Sirens is the first bad show USA has put out in years (admittedly I did not watch the cia beachhouse drama that followed burn notice )

We have also run out of reruns to watch on Netflix of two classics: Better off Ted and The IT Crowd

He was at a rescue/shelter. Dogs getting put down. People abandoning dogs and cats. A lot of animals looking like they need a friend.

It's not a cheery story (but very few are on that show).

So it's going to be waterworks tonight, for my wife of course....not me....because I'm a man....

But we're looking to adopt another dog from a rescue shelter shortly so maybe that'll be the extra added motivation we need.
