Just finished eating. I had fresh grilled redfish with fried cornbread cake and roasted squash and zucchini, pork and andouille gumbo with a rue that looked like coffee it was so dark. The wifey had fried green tomatoes with lump crab meat, and sauteed jumbo shrimp in well seasoned (hot) butter with a corn/tomato confit. I had several Makers Mark Old Fashioneds, and a really, really, surprisingly dry rose. The wife swilled champagne cocktails until she switched to sauvignon blanc. Home made 23% butterfat banana and caramel ice cream and cappuccino topped it off, with a Cohiba Esplendido (with no bitchin' about it) for the hubby - who picked up the check. :banger: New Orleans may be third world, but we can prepare some food y'all!!!

A good night and good eatin' bitches! Herbsaint is a James Beard award winner this summer, and it rocks. :banger::groove2::cheers:

Gala apple....dull compared to the anniversary dinner we had Saturday night at The Refectory.

-we split a bottle of Moet & Chandon White star.
-an order of roasted goat cheese with shallots and olive oil
-crusty french bread
-swordfish stuffed with sun-dried tomatoes, bacon, and spinach, served on truffle potatoes with roasted corn and champagne butter.
-lemon mousse with vanilla sponge cake and raspberries with citrus tuile with a dessert wine
-french coffee

Thank god I can't afford to eat like that everyday. Wow.
