Complacency is always something that coaches have their eyes and ears open for with their teams, and Ohio State head coach Ryan Day is no exception to that trait. Coming off a 52-6 win over Akron that had its moments of frustration and relief, the Ohio State coaching staff had plenty of areas that they would be able to point to with their players in film study for needing improvement. Having a team such as Western Michigan, fresh off a challenging 28-14 loss at Wisconsin will help the coaches make sure they have their players' undivided attention and focus.

The Ohio State football team played pretty well against Akron, They won the game 52-6 in a game that really turned in the second half. That's when the Buckeyes got their offense in gear and started executing the way that they thought they'd be executing to start the game.

Ohio State now takes on Western Michigan in Week 2. It's the second straight Big Ten opponent for Western Michigan. Last week, they almost pulled off an upset against Wisconsin. They will be looking to pull off that upset against the Ohio State Buckeyes, something Ryan Day is looking to prevent.

While this isn't a game that the Buckeyes should expect to be competitive, there are still some things they want to work on. Day mentioned that he wants the team to start faster on offense. They want to dominate the whole game. They have the talent to do it.

As we do every week, we give you some bold predictions for this Ohio State football game. All of them are reachable for the team and they would be really nice to get. The first of them has to do with how quickly the offense starts this week.

Going to be at a wedding here in Ohio during the game… hopefully the games on but otherwise I’m recording.

For the game? I just want to see a fast start. Score, stop then and then score again to go up 14-0. Then just play a clean game.

No drops, no turnovers, no back breaking penalties, and of course no drops lol.

Another week, another QB with health issues come Saturday night. Sorry Broncos but you got a night game?!?!?! LOLOL

If one of those "predictions" comes through, the +4 in turnovers, we'll score 70 and they wont want to come out after halftime. Release the hounds!!

yes. With games like this I just want us to rag doll them early so we can get out back ups in. Our starters can’t play into the 4th vs these lower level teams.

Oh, how close Western Michigan came to hanging the head of a Big Ten foe on its mantle.

The Broncos took a 14-13 lead in the first minute of the fourth quarter, then forced Wisconsin to go three-and-out on its following drive. That meant a chance for their offense to drain the clock and extend the lead.

Western Michigan would have gotten that chance had the Badgers’ punt not bounced backward and ricocheted off Broncos cornerback DaShon Bussell. Wisconsin’s Austin Brown recovered the ball on the Broncos’ 15-yard line, scored a touchdown to take the lead and won the game 28-14 from there to survive the scare.

There's a lot of talk in the public sphere about saving plays for better opponents down the stretch of the season. Ohio State offensive coordinator Chip Kelly pushed back on that notion on Tuesday. So, if his words hold true, expect the Buckeyes to have their full playbook at their disposal both against Western Michigan and all other enemies.

“They are really good. They are really talented on all three levels, in all three phases. Coach (Ryan) Day has done an excellent job, him and his staff, of building a great roster. I was really impressed as I watched these guys on film of how disciplined they play.”– Western Michigan head coach Lance Taylor

Broncos coach Lance Taylor is impressed with the talent Ohio State's accumulated on its roster and how it's been developed. He'll get a first-hand taste of that on Saturday night.

Western Michigan’s competitive first game against Wisconsin caught the attention of Ohio State’s players, including Tate, who will be looking to build upon a strong season opener after catching four passes for 58 yards and a touchdown against Akron.
