West Virginia/JUCO/C.W. Post/Kean RB Jason Gwaltney (official thread)

That just goes to show how the information from various sites can conflict. Scout has been reporting that JT already had his in-home. JT having the final visit is a huge advanatge with JG
Did they specifically say JT was going, or could it be Doc Tressell? He is the RB coach and I thought I remembered Jason saing that he and Doc sparked up a very nice relationship. Obviously the HC would be nice to get in there, but any tOSU presence, especially the RB coach, would be helpful after Petey visits.

Help! How many in-homes do you get? Was this not an in-home?

From "On The Bus with Jason Gwaltny" by Alan

Gwaltney said that USC Head Coach Pete Carrol is going to be making an in home visit with him on Wednesday and that Ohio State Head Coach Jim Tressel was in before he left for the Army AA game. Regarding Jim Tressel, he said, “He’s a good guy…for real...it was the best visit I have had.”
I think you only get one true in home but I do believe you can visit over a dinner in a public place. I think the head coach can meet with the recruit and/or family at a public place for a certain period of time. An in-home can last awhile.

I thought that was how Petey sealed the deal with Davis last year - he took him to some local Wing place in Toledo.

Don't quote me on either comment but I have read about both situations/scenarios somewhere's...

Stripes posted this on BN free last night. Supposed quote from Sanchez.

"MS: "I just talked to Patrick too, he's solid baby. That commit is solid. He's checking the dates on his spring break because if his dates match up with SC spring ball he's going to fly out here and stay with me. We were also talking about him coming out for the summer workouts, I know Gwaltney and Cushing are talking about doing that too."

Hope Mark is out of the loop.

I would think those guys would be in the loop more than anyone.

I think if Ohio State finishes with what they have they should consider themselves lucky. I didn't feel that way until very recently, but I think that Jason wants to make a big splash and is headed West. I also feel that Lawrence Wilson will follow his heart to South Bend.

I am just eager to put this unpleasant season in the books and get on with looking forward to the 2005 kickoff.

The Rivals update by Mike Farrell specifically says "Jim Tressel" but maybe Jason meant Doc Tressel instead. Or maybe this visit by JT is not going to be an in-home visit. JT should take him to some local burger joint like PC did with Fred Davis last year.

Even if JT is not going to be meeting with Gwaltney, Worthington, or Wilson, the fact that we have coaches visiting all three this week is great. That and the fact that JT is visiting Kearney himself.

I am still holding out hope that we land JG...

I, for one, am really not putting much stock into what Sanchez has said. I am sure if Gwaltney and Cushing do decide to go to USC then they will go for the early workouts, but that is if they go. Cushing is still taking visits and I don't think Gwaltney even knows yet where he is going. We have, basically, the last shot at JG after Petey gets in (severel WVa coaches will be in after JT but I believe they are all but out of it). Anyways... I am still solid that JG will be a Buckeye and that is what I am expecting to hear on Feb. 1st and 2nd.
