Week 9 Games Discussion

I've watched a few Clempson games this year, or at least chunks of them, and they have some issues that tell me this might be more than simply a "down year" for them. Dabo has put together a helluva run based largely on three things...a transcendent talent at QB, stealing signs from opponents, and a stout/disruptive DL. They do not have an elite QB right now. They also have never recruited overly great on the OL, but their OL is BAD right now. Part of it might be the limitations in play calling because of the QB issues, but they are not good at all. I know Breesee going down hurts, but the depth on the DL isn't what it was in years past. They have some work to do to get back to good, let alone great.

I think Ohio State broke Clemson when Ryan Day showed how to disrupt the sign stealing. It's a rebuilding year for them, but I think that is what has set them back.

The question is why? Did all of the recruiting services miss on this guy? He was the #1 or #2 QB prospect of his class, depending where you look.

OC Jeff Scott left after 2019 to take the South Florida HC job. Coincidence? I don't know, but DJU shouldn't look this bad. Not that I mind, though.
That's a good question. It's not unprecedented that a top-10.QB is just a flop, but it's also very possible that losing Jeff Scott was a serious blow and his absence was somewhat masked by a transcendent talent at QB. Either way, there seem to be bigger issues than injuries and an underachieving QB.
