Week 8 Game Discussion Thread

Can Texas log a 3rd 27-24 loss in a row?

I can hear the "BUT ALL 3 OF THEIR LOSSES WERE BY UNDER 10 POINTS COMBINED!" screaming and crying from ESPN trying to push them into the playoff with 3 losses if that's what they finished with.

The problem for Texas is going to be like a lot of other teams come selection day. More than 6 teams with 2+ losses for only 6 at large spots (ND has almost zero chance of missing their guaranteed spot even if they lose to Miami imo. They’d have to get a third loss)

The B12 could really throw a monkey wrench and have 2 non champ teams ranked high and only 1-2 losses

However it shakes out, I don’t think the SEC and B1G are just going to split up the 6 spots between them this year. The SEC non champs are all going to have 2 or more losses. The B1G non champs are also going to be very suspect especially if our QB situation takes OSU off the board.

The scenario that would really test biases would be UCLA going into the B1G title game with 1 loss and taking a 2nd loss there.

They put Bama in with 3 losses after losing their CCG last year without even much of a question.

I doubt UCLA would be given that same benefit of the doubt and there would at minimum be serious discussion about leaving them out for some 2 loss SEC team
