Week 14 Games Discussion

Uh, which is about as likely as me fucking Kate Beckinsale tomorrow, which was kind of the point.
Uh, did I say it was likely, or even relatively possible? No. But, you clearly stated, "TCU is not leapfrogging to #1, no matter how much you root for it", and I showed what would need to happen for TCU to "leapfrog" to #1...and it really doesn't matter at all how much any of us "root for it".

Wrong logo. Forget the exact year Johnny Utah lead us to the Rose Bowl, but he would’ve played under one of these two (changed in ‘87). Probably played through both.

The logo on his card is the modern version of the logo introduced in 1991, when he was already a FBI agent serving his country by bringing down ex-president dressed bank robbers.

As an 80s kid that had an unhealthy obsession and collection of sports cards, at least 50% of my memory is dedicated to sports logo and uniforms of the era.

It’s a blessing and a curse, really.
I actually looked it up...

I was curious because (as you said) the logo changed like six dozen times before, during, and after my time at OSU.

I'd venture a guess that it's about time for a "refresh", though the current design doesn't seem to be aging so badly (compared to the 80's logo, for example).

The alternate 1986-2013 logo brings back a lot of bad memories... I can't remember how many 1/16" end mills I broke trying to mill that damn thing out of a wood block down in the department's machine shop back in the day. And what's even worse, I can't for the life of me remember why I was even trying to do it... maybe I was trying to win a bet or something, or was trying to get in good with one of the profs. Or maybe I was trying to make a mold or something.

I was a pretty deft freehand artist/painter in the early 00s and did a bit of work painting murals in children’s bedrooms and detailing (weirdly) golf carts at a resort camp ground I was a member of.

I did the alternate 73-04 logo on the wall of my nephews nursery in 91. That was a breeze.

I did the double block cap lettered primary logo from 91-13 on two sides of two different golf carts in 98 and 99 (for a gratis membership and skipping the waiting list to join the club). That was a fucking nightmare, even with precut stencils I’d made on a light board ahead of time. Those lines were so fucking thin, and impossible to paint on a vertical surface that was that low to the ground. That logo was just the absolute worst busy mess.
