Week 14 CCG Games Discussion Thread

I don't see why they need to do anything similar to what we did in 2014. We had to win 59-0 because we had a bad loss and there were other 1-loss teams. FSU is undefeated and being compared to 1-loss teams. If there were 5 undefeated teams, then they would be under more pressure to win convincingly

I think Travis being gone legit handicaps FSU to the point where they can say that even though they are undefeated, the circumstances are to the point where they can't say they are better than Texas or whoever at this moment in time. Now just because they can does not mean they will though.

UCF was in a non-P5 conference. They were never ranked as high as #4 at any time. That's the conundrum with FSU this year.
They were undefeated. Did they not deserve a shot? If no, then why not?

It’s the best 4 not deserving.

If you guys were going to watch a game who would you WANT to watch (outside of OSU who lost).

Would you want to see FSU without their QB or Texas? Shoot for that matter OSU?

I remember hearing that argument many years for USC. "They're the hottest team in the country! No one can beat them now". Should sleepwalking through the earlier part of the season be rewarded? If program A and program B have comparable resumes, then I have no problem with going off of who is playing better at the end of the year. That is not the case with FSU and the 1-loss teams

Yeah and I couldn’t push back harder from this.

Who cares who’s got the best record. Should some team be punished because they’re in a tough conference while someone gets a free ride all year?

In that case why didn’t Central Florida get a shot in 2017?

Seriously why not?
Now you're playing dumb and being pedantic with this ridiculous UCF "point" that you think is some kind of "gotcha".

Got it. Fuck the results, just put the most entertaining teams in. You may have a future at espn

It's not about sleepwalking or whatever. It's about if you think FSU is still a top 4 caliber team with Rodemaker or Glenn at QB, IMO they are not. I assume the CFP committee thinks about the same, but I don't think they are going to pull the trigger on dropping a undefeated team out for a 1 loss team. Either way personally I don't care. But it's asinine to treat FSU exactly the same as if Travis were 100%.

I hope Bama wins over Georgia, and I hope they do it rather convincingly.

That way I can watch every single talking head just explode and fall over themselves on how to justify the top 4 at such a point.

They'd also be convincing themselves that Georgia should still be ahead of Texas as well.

Seriously, because their best wins were over USF and Memphis.
