Week 1 Games Discussion

Actually, tOSU was #1 in the final BCS standings in 2007. If West Va. had won against Pitt, the Buckeyes would have played RichRod’s Mountaineers in New Orleans for the Championship, rather than facing 2-loss LSU, who were #2 before the Sugar Bowl.

#1 Mizzou also lost, allowing both #3 tOSU and #7 LSU to move to the top 2 spots in the final BCS standings.
Forgot about Mizzou. I just remember that both OSU and LSU got in through the back door.

Bucks moved back up after the Mich. game? That was the crazy season when everybody who made it to #1 or 2 lost shortly afterwards. OSU made it to #1 then promptly lost to Illinios the next game, which was the week before scUM. The Game was the same day as the Backyard Brawl so possibly moved back to the top spot with the W.Va. loss. From what I remember, everyone expected the Mountaineers to play Mizzou for the Natty, but with both of them losing the same day, The Bucks and LSU moved in. I DO remember the Bucks being #1 going into that game against LSU however. 2007 was just a crazy season across the entire country.

tOSU was #3 after The Game. The WVU-Pitt and Mizzou-Oklahoma CCG we’re both a week later, on December 1.

2007 was crazy, Kansas ended up being the only Power Conference team with only 1 loss after the bowl games.

Interested to see how Okie Stats D plays tonight against CMU. Lew Nicholls is a beast but that first series for OSU was an impressive one. TD Cowboys. The Chips are going to have to have some success running the ball in order to stay in this game

Not such a great second defensive series for the other OSU. CMU marches right down the field for a TD.

yep was getting ready to mention that. The middle was a huge problem for them on that series. LBs getting caught coming forward? The attacking style leaves counters a problem if you dont pay attention.
