Week 1 Games Discussion

Yes, Clemson plays one of the most difficult schedules in the country, if we’re evaluating where Florida St, Miami, Virginia Tech, North Carolina, and South Carolina were 20 fucking years ago, when Clemson usually went 8-5.

don’t you ESPN? UNC and NC State are actually really great teams they just ran into in state sleeper buzzsaws on Saturday!

that will hurt them big, but those Baptists have money and they can hire and fire a bunch of guys until they get another good one

This observation is underrated. They rode that RGIII train to a fundraising bonanza and have a legit new beautiful riverside stadium and big money boosters like Ken Starr pumping money into football and mens and womens basketball. They’re not going away tomorrow in any major sports just cause they’re the little ole Baylor all of us knew for decades.

They revolutionized their program with RGIII money the same way Utah did with Orrin Hatch securing that 2002 Winter Olympics largesse.

Long story short, I was involved with a company that published Art Briles’ biography (book summary: He’s a sanctimonious sack of shit) and I remember reading about how he tapped into their boosters and was surprised at how deep their pockets ran and how willing their boosters are in investing in the program.

I hadn’t even considered the RG3 aspect that you mentioned either.
