Week 1 Games Discussion

Any of you Buckeye Bros make it to the VaTech game a few years back?

How is Lane Stadium? How is the Va Tech campus. I know next to nothing about Western VA
I went there, it was the first game after the Buckeyes won the inaugural CFB Playoff.

I didn’t spend a lot of time on campus, I remember seeing the memorial for the victims of the 2007 shootings. It’s a campus town at the edge of the mountains. There was good tailgating right across the street from campus, walkable to the stadium. The stadium got loud for its size, there were a little over 65k there that night. Enter Sandman is the best tradition they have, and the place really rocks when that is played.

Beth Mowins is so great. For those of you that were complaining about Gus last night, she would make a great replacement.

I was holding my iPad in my right hand while I read this. Unfortunately, that is where the snark processor is located. I ended up with a 3rd degree burn on my palm.

This is the first time in human history that Beth Mowins was even the distal cause of a palm burn.

It's almost unfathomable that in 2007, KU was 11-0, ranked #2 with one of the best offense in the country. They'd lose to Mizzou keeping them out of the Big-12 championship game, but would go on to best VT inn the Orange Bowl to finish 12-1 nd ranked #7.
They were the only Power-5 team that year to finish with 1 loss, and obviously nobody was undefeated. But the soft schedule only got them #7, although they did get 1 AP #1 vote.
