So, I've got the bug to get a chronograph. I have an everyday watch and dress/formal watch (posted above), and I've narrowed it down to an IWC Spitfire or Omega Speedmaster Moonwatch. Anyone have any experiences here to help me decide? I know that I could go to a watch geek forum, but that would mean going to a watch geek forum. Here are the candidates. Price is roughly the same. I'm leaning towards the Spitfire but am still very open to new shit coming to light.

You already have an "everyday" watch and a "dress" watch -- how much further down the hole does going to a watchgeek forum really put you?

I don't believe there's much historical significance to the IWC. The other watch went to the moon. To me, it's an easy choice to get the Omega.

Ooh, blingy. If it can generate red laser dots, you have yourself a sale!

(Actually, one of the things I've noticed is how many women's watches are basically pared-down versions of the more boring men's designs with some diamonds slapped on. There are some artistic jewelry-style watches, but most are pretty blah.)

All Deety asked for was a blinged out cat watch that shot freekin' lasers out of its head. Was that too much, people?

Omega has lots of "Special Edition" watches It's their "thing". They get some shade for doing so many but if you get the right one say a "Snoopy" or an "Ultra man" they are likely to gain in value. But do not buy a watch as an investment. It rarely works out. Buy something you'll enjoy wearing every friggin day. I bought a Seiko Monster (second year)divers watch because I wanted one to wear all the time. Sure, it is "collectible" and did double in value but I wear it all the time. It's still not an expensive watch so I don't worry about it getting banged up and looking like shit.

Omega Speedmaster "Ultraman" in.....

and...Yes! It's just as wacky as it sounds!
