Wash St 6 at USC 27 (final)

Washington State is the worst BCS team in the nation right now, and it probably isn't even close. This is a team that held open tryouts from the student population for QB last season, because the O-Line was so terrible they were down to a walk-on - and their last - QB, after all the scholarship QBs got creamed.

This year, they are:

94th Rushing Offense
95th Scoring Offense

92nd Rushing Defense
109th Pass Eff Defense
120th Pass Defense
119th Total Defense
109th Scoring Defense

That is against a schedule of Stanford, Hawaii, and SMU.

The only way USC doesn't hang 50 on them is if they get up so big, so early, CPC takes the air out of the ball to protect Barkley (and Corp), and McKnight, Havili and Co have another fumblepalooza with all the carries that negates a couple possessions while shortening the game, holding them to a mere 42 points, or thereabouts.

Hell, SC's defense could probably still cover the spread on their own.

I don't think this is as much a gimme as it looks.

Found last years thread:

Washington State was a 42.5 point dog AT HOME last season, and lost 69-0. SC was up 41-0 at the half, with the total yardage disparity being 408-17. At the half. SC didn't even attempt a forward pass with 25 minutes left in the game, desperately trying to not run up the score, yet still "accidentally" scored four rushing TDs over the last 20 minutes.

No way USC covers...With the exception of the SJST game, against tOSU and Wash they have created 11 and 13 points, respectively. The one TD against us was created by the "D". So...I'm supposed to believe that a team that is averraging 29 points a game, including an opening game blowout that netted 56 points, will score enough to cover a 45.5 point spread? This isn't Florida, this is USC.

Yeah... I'm taking Wash St with this one.

We haven't opened the playbook up enough to think we're going to win by over 45 points. If we were back to a passing team with Barkley at full health and RoJo on the field, maybe. But since none of those three things will happen, I'll predict a 21 point win for the Trojans, far under the spread.

It's hard to not take a team receiving 45 friggin' points.

USC- 20
WSU- 0

2:30 left in the first.

USC in full blown we don't want to cover mode.

7 penalties for 75 yards, 2 fumbles-1 lost, 1 missed FG about halfway through the 2nd quarter.

That said its still 20-0 and it doesn't look like WSU can score without some serious luck.
