With all due respect to you and Jim Tressel, I don't think this is the time for such an event. I sincerely hope TBDBITL does not participate in it.

Someday, hopefully, it will be that time. It is not now.

Not only is Jake spot-on here, but I highly doubt that Coach Tress would want this to happen so fast.

I'd prefer to see things settle for a few years, at least. Then, someday down the road invite Coach to "Dot The I." He did great things for this program and this University that will be appreciated forever. But, it's just too soon.

Peace

Damn. Won't be able to go. Would've if I'd have had more notice.

As much as I disagreed with how Tressel and the school handled this disaster, I still have a ton of respect for him. He's still a valuable member of the community, and I'm happy that people are eager to show him that he still means a lot to Ohio State and the city. Wish I could show my support.

If Tressel could continue to include Clarett in the OSU family after his actions, I think the rest of us can keep Tressel in the family. It strikes me as a beautiful thing to be able to acknowledge someone's mistakes and still value them.

I'd go if I were there.

Agreed Deety. Even when family, knowingly make a mistake, there still family. Jim Tressels "Did" give his players, many second chances. To bad it was the haters that won out. Wish I was available too. I'll be there in heart.

I respect your opinion, but a couple of folks aren't going to stop the masses. Good luck convincing them. Peace out too!

Regarding the timing of this, it's possible this is the last chance the students will have to show support in this fashion.

This is the last week that the students will be in town. After the August 12th meeting with the NCAA (if it stays on that date), it's possible that JT could be somewhere else doing another job before the students return in September.

I could care less if any individuals want to take part in this. It's everyone's own choice to form their opinion of JT and of his exit from the university. I do have a problem with TBDBITL taking part because that would implicitly put an official university stamp of approval on the event.

Like Jake said, it will some day be appropriate for the university to honor Jim Tressel officially. That day is not yet here.
