I have to say that both on this kid and the TE kid from Florida, our coaches have not figured out a good angle to approach a situation of brother on your team and the next brother is independent and too proud to be in the shadow. Losing these two to ND is an embarrassment to our coaches IMO and they should learn from it.

Don't recruit brothers. Got it. Wait...

some of your guys reaction to my post. Maybe it is denial, but to me it is a little ambarrassing to the coaches and to OSU fans that their school gets rejected by these two kids under the circumstances. It is not the end of the world of course but it is humbling. Maybe you honestly don't feel that at all, but I certailny do and I have no problem admitting it.

Here you go.

But really, I don't all the much wrong with what Wham said, except for the "embarrassment" part of it. He is right. We have not found a good anagle for the "older brother on the same team" issue, which is obvious with Smith and Heuerman going elsewhere.

Being a younger sibling myself, I can pretty much guarantee, that if the younger sibling wanted to stand out against the brother, the only way Ohio State would get them would be an NCAA violation (i.e. money, girls, etc)

Why should the coaches or anyone involved feel embarrassed?

We don't have an unlimited number of scholarships; just because someone grew up a fan, it's not necessary we extend them an offer. By the same token, if we want someone but they don't want to come here or they feel that OSU isn't the right place, it doesn't mean they are obligated to. In this case, Mike and likely Jaylon didn't feel OSU was the right place for them - the end.

I can sort of see why Wham is disappointed (Saban and Kiffin have been using the "sibling" card for ages to get top prospects, i.e. the Khalil's) but we have our own version of that with the Boren's.

Who cares, Notre Dame is irrelevant, if kids want to play for a program that hasn't done anything on the field in their lifetime more power to them. Save getting upset when we lose recruits to teams that can actually compete with us.
