  • Sitting in Hopkins waiting to board and getting bored but at least they have wifi, albeit slow wifi. Nothing like walking through an airport to remind you of all the different people in the world, including freaks, nuts and weirdos.

BTW, if anybody knows any locks for the games this weekend let me know. I'll be heading to Caesar's sportsbook, later.

I should've known better than to take the Bucks -19 against Minny. Sure enough, we got up by 28 and Tressel called off the dogs. Still enjoyed the game, though. :)

Most places didn't have a line for the YSU game...some did, and I think if they did we covered. But other than that we are 0-4 ATS. I think this week will be the first time we beat the spread, because I think we win, and I think we will get points. 2006 was a good year to bet on the Bucks, not 2008.

Sitting in McCarran, waiting to go home. :(

Didn't do as well as I had hoped given my recent successes here during March Madness (paid for my trip, and then some) but it wasn't a total loss. Special thanks go out to the Bills and Chargers for outscoring their opponents by 25 points in the second half to win AND cover. Also, thank you to Fresno State and Penn State for taking a knee in the red zone, late. Finally, thank you scUM for not making me regret betting on your sorry asses against Wiscy.

How did you make out at the tables and how were the limits?
I've heard that you'll get some good deals since Vegas is hurting.

Vegas didn't look like it was hurting when I was there. Condos going up all over the place, packed casinos, traffic jams and airport delays. Business as usual...

To the naked eye Vegas looks booming... If you live there you would see that those same high rises have sat in that phase of construction for over a year. There are many places around town where construction has been fully halted mid-phase.

It used to take a hour for one of those high rises to be finished. Vegas is hurting bad outside of the strip... (like I said its even bad there if you look long enough...)

Despite the recessed economy there was no shortage of visitors to Vegas this week for the first round of March Madness. Wall to wall and bumper to bumper people - and lots of Canadians, eh. Had some luck in the sportsbook but didn't fare as well on the blackjack table. Of course, if I was paying as much attention to my cards as I was to the smokin hot little Asian dealer I might've had more success. :wink2:

Some anxious moments watching the Buckeyes fail to close out Siena while keeping an eye on the clock knowing I had to get my bags and my butt to the airport as soon as it was over. Followed that up by getting the Cabbie of the Year, who threatened to pull over and let me drive when I told him we weren't taking the scenic route to the airport and gave him specific instructions. By law, he has to take you where you want to go but he doesn't have to be polite about it. He kept running his mouth, I told him I was sure he'd find some suckers to drive around Vegas later in the evening. When we reached McCarran I gave him his fare and this tip - respect your customers if you actually want money. We exchanged pleasantries one final time as I exited the car. :pissed:

The flight/drive home was thankfully uneventful but I'm dog tired. I think I'm getting too old for the red eye. Vegas...always an adventure.
