You mean like the reality where stanton NEVER ripped Michigan?I dunno, in a little place like reality, that might indicate that he might just be overrated.
Brilliant example. Man, the media is so unfair, they aren't hyping a guy who racked up 46 yards against Florida, and that no one wanted until day 2 in the draft. Do you have directions to your version of reality?Smith did win the heisman, but do you see a lovefest going for him as much as VY and do you hear about his NFL future all the time?...he is off the map since the florida game.
Oklahoma, top-15 defense nationally. 45-13. 286 yds offense, 3 tds, 0 int. More parallel universes, I guess.tell me one team that was even good that year in the big 12
You challenged VY to prove it against USC, he was lights out, and suddenly you are changing your argument... again.USC is lacking defense from its previous year and suffering from an absurd amount of injuries

Keep dancing, Jeff.
And certainly thought they were something special, unlike your recent spinning.Jeffcat;347662; said:young would have to do something awe inspiring against USC for me to think of him as a NFL QB.
Jeffcat;347436; said:i think young is a decent college QB but i think he will be slightly exposed against USC.
Jeffcat;370458; said:i think USC is far better this year as opposed to last. people have pointed out problems on defense but over half of their defensive starters have LITERALLY been out for a good part of the year. plus the offense only looks better. it would be scary if they had mike williams last year but this years team is much better imo. i would rank USC as the best team ever as well from what i have seen. they have arguably the best players in the nation at almost every position especially on offense.
Many called that bowl game as the greatest of all time, with Young shining the brightest with both his feet and arm.Jeffcat;372402; said:but anyways i still think USC beats texas pretty decisively

Jeffcat;346668; said:at 6'5" with good speed and big hands you can bet WR. he wont be a QB so either WR or TE or he doesnt play
Jeffcat;347436; said:like i said i will bet all of my Vcash he never has a start as an NFL QB![]()
When did you ever do this? gems:Jeffcat;347662; said:i will give the guy credit where it is due but i dont see the NFL QB potential in him
NightmaresDad;373561; said:Are you sure your'e a Buckeye fan?Jeffcat;372892; said:has texas seen a team period this year?
Big Papa;894762; said:Bullshit. It was a hard hit yes, but not dirty. Too much for a practice, probably, but not dirty. Nickey just knows one way to play, and that is balls out. What do you expect from a tOSU alum? Besides, he's trying to work in more PT, so he is out there to showcase his stuff too. Fuck Vince Young.
jwinslow;895260; said:It's pretty simple Jeff. You challenged VY to prove himself against USC.And certainly thought they were something special, unlike your recent spinning.

It seems pretty clear you have blinding hate towards the guy. He wildly outperformed your expectations and more than met your challenge, yet now suddenly USC stunk and he didn't do anything impressive.
At this point... you've become BP's Skip Bayless. You didn't think he'd ever start at QB, so why should we listen to your newly modified prognostications?
When did you ever do this? gems:

OregonBuckeye;895278; said:I think the game was over a long time ago.
cincibuck;895350; said:Jeffcat, Let me see if I got this straight: 04 Michigan wasn't tough after we beat them, when of course, they were tough, or was it the way OSU beat Indiana that got them into the Fiesta Bowl? Is that the argument? And OSU wasn't good when they lost to Texas, but they were great when they beat Michigan and Notre Dame? 05 USC wasn't that good 'cause they were only ranked #1 and undefeated, but they were lucky to beat Notre Dame and then they got by Cal 'cause everyone on the Cal team had diphtheria the night before the game. And Oklahoma hasn't been the same since Bud Wilkens left. And Texas A&M is nothing compared to, oh let's say Illinois and Minnesota. And 06 Florida had no talent whatsoever. Gotcha.
Now I have a lot of respect and love for Troy Smith, but which one would you have picked had they come out in the same year, Troy or Vince? And which one led his team to the NC in his final game?
Jeffcat;895560; said:04 michigan was exposed vs OSU with smith...OSU was good vs texas, but much improved by the end of the year with a one QB system and got used to it...keep in mind they even had a scuffle the next week vs SDSU where i remember our own fans booing our team, which was a disgrace...USC vs ND???....why is ND even part of the debate?...they have been shown time and again they are not up to par with top tier teams so why are we even talking about them?...USC had an OK defense that was less stellar than the year before, and then went through a bout of multiple injuries on defense.....the fresno state game being a great example of how weak their defense was at the time...offensively they were loaded. oklahoma and A&M in 2005 was as strong as last year's iowa AT BEST, so i don't really need to go into detail there. what does 06 florida have to do with anything?....they won a NC so they obviously had some pretty good talent.
if i had to pick between smith or young, I would take smith without a doubt even considering his height disadvantage which i don't weigh much on. Of course, I am speaking of the QB position. leinart will be better than VY and probably smith as well when the cardinals figure out how to rebuild their entire O-line. frankly, it is hard to say who really isn't better than VY...i guess leaf. I suppose he might be pretty good if he would of went to nebraska in 95, but he didn't.
