you are going to use oklahoma from that year?.....spare me. oklahoma was in shambles that year and even their own fanbase will admit that. they were in no way a good team and barely fall on the cusp of a decent team that year. i wouldn't be surprised if they were a top 15 defense at that point.....look at the rest of the conference they played that year. stop beating around fact that their conference was crap that year. I could say boeckman would be a future NFL ROY and heisman candidate too if he went on to win all of his games in a conference that was the equivalent of a boise stateless WAC. Keep in mind, I am only going into retrospect of the 2005 year. Stanton managed to rush for 80 yards vs michigan...drew stanton...the game they choked away i believe that year, but thats irrelevant. It wasn't news for anybody that michigan couldn't handle a somewhat mobile QB if their life depended on it....well except for the media and everybody else that was clueless.

i think young is a decent college QB but i think he will be slightly exposed against USC.

i think USC is far better this year as opposed to last. people have pointed out problems on defense but over half of their defensive starters have LITERALLY been out for a good part of the year. plus the offense only looks better. it would be scary if they had mike williams last year but this years team is much better imo. i would rank USC as the best team ever as well from what i have seen. they have arguably the best players in the nation at almost every position especially on offense.

at 6'5" with good speed and big hands you can bet WR. he wont be a QB so either WR or TE or he doesnt play

And OSU wasn't good when they lost to Texas, but they were great when they beat Michigan and Notre Dame? 05 USC wasn't that good 'cause they were only ranked #1 and undefeated, but they were lucky to beat Notre Dame and then they got by Cal 'cause everyone on the Cal team had diphtheria the night before the game. And Oklahoma hasn't been the same since Bud Wilkens left. And Texas A&M is nothing compared to, oh let's say Illinois and Minnesota. And 06 Florida had no talent whatsoever. Gotcha.

04 michigan was exposed vs OSU with smith...OSU was good vs texas, but much improved by the end of the year with a one QB system and got used to it...keep in mind they even had a scuffle the next week vs SDSU where i remember our own fans booing our team, which was a disgrace...USC vs ND???....why is ND even part of the debate?...they have been shown time and again they are not up to par with top tier teams so why are we even talking about them?...USC had an OK defense that was less stellar than the year before, and then went through a bout of multiple injuries on defense.....the fresno state game being a great example of how weak their defense was at the time...offensively they were loaded. oklahoma and A&M in 2005 was as strong as last year's iowa AT BEST, so i don't really need to go into detail there. what does 06 florida have to do with anything?....they won a NC so they obviously had some pretty good talent.

if i had to pick between smith or young, I would take smith without a doubt even considering his height disadvantage which i don't weigh much on. Of course, I am speaking of the QB position. leinart will be better than VY and probably smith as well when the cardinals figure out how to rebuild their entire O-line. frankly, it is hard to say who really isn't better than VY...i guess leaf. I suppose he might be pretty good if he would of went to nebraska in 95, but he didn't.
