Damn it, I ordered the Incredible a week and half ago, still waiting on shipping info, and I already feel its outdated.

got the Incredible on the 29th, it's been 3 whole days, and I'm in love with this phone. Maybe because I'm coming off of the LG Dare, but I wouldn't give this thing up if someone handed me an iPhone4.

So I decided to go swimming with my Incredible yesterday. Good times... Lucky for me the water markers never changed colors. I threw it in rice overnight, still didn't work this morning, so i took it to VZW and told them I wasn't sure what happened. New one will be here Tuesday for no charge!

So I'm due for an upgrade and I'm really intrested in getting the Droid X, which comes out on the 15th. Does anyone have any clue on pre-orders or other ways to aquire the phone? I'm kinda lost, and any help would be apreciated. Thanks!

Got the Droid X today. So far very impressed.

If you want to install any custom roms/software anytime I'd suggest getting a different phone. It looks like Motorola installed something that checks what software you are running, and if your are running a something different it kills the device. If that doesn't make any sense, check this link out.

So why will tethering my phone to a laptop cost me an extra $30/month for 5GB of data on top of the so-called unlimited data package (minimum plan of $29.99/month) that I already have for my phone? WTF is that? I had planned on getting a new phone, and using my old shitty one as a modem, but a minimum of $59.99/month seems like a very high price to pay to have mobile broadband on my laptop.

Do they just charge us twice for a mobile data plan because they can, or is there a reasonable explanation why the data plan that I already have on my phone doesn't cover using the phone to transfer data as a modem?

There's nothing new about this. I've had to pay this fee for my BlackBerry ever since I began using it as a tethered modem.

There are so many hot spots cropping up that I may very well discontinue this function. It's come in handy once or twice, but not enough to warrant the $30/month extra.

BTW, the Bold will not sync with my new car (Kia Sorento), so I'm considering a Droid or Droid X. I know the plain-vanilla Droid will sync; the X is too new to know. Not sure whether the added features and size of the X are worth the additional $50 purchase price. Still considering my options ...

Asurion No Longer Assures You an Original Droid – Production Ceased, May Have to Settle for a Low-End Device | Android Phone Fans

Moral of the story: go with state-farm to insure your phone. Cheaper, no deductible, and no risk of this nonsense.

Of course this guy whined his way out of trouble
yes….i have been aware of this since last week. i bitched and complained and they are sending me an INCREDIBLE which I guess I’ll have to settle for. and the deductible is $80 too!! There is no way I’m getting a Devor or HTC Droid over my Moto Droid!! they didn’t even offer me the LG Ally either. so the Incredible is back ordered….but they said within 3-7 days they will have it in.
