If you were an ND fan would you be all that confident?

i agree with you, i wouldnt be confident. you just contradicted what you said earlier when you said that scUM is gonna be crapping their pants or something like that. all i am saying is that if this were true and you thought your O would kill their D, you would have taken the bet.

Oh, God help us if ND does indeed become a good team again...we'll never hear the frickin' end of it...

AMEN!! It has been so peaceful not having to listen to 20 million catholics the past so many years while ND has sucked.

Dont get on your high horse yet Chief. Pitt sucks. Sucked last year as well, didnt belong in the Bowl game.

(No offense to any catholics by the way, but that is normally the mouths I get to hear around this area. None of them have a frickin clue about football.)

My point exactly. We have a shot at Michigan, but we need Michigan, Purdue and Michigan State to step up and keep ND in their place. You have to take a regional perspective on this. Bowl folks want teams from opposite regions and an undefeated ND team is going to get to pick and choose where it plays and whom. If OSU and ND had identical records and both had beaten Michigan who do you think would get the Rose Bowl bid?

Just for the record, I'm Catholic (note the Big C, denoting a particular church as opposed to small c, meaning universal) and I sure as hell don't root for ND. I taught and coached at a Catholic high school (Cincinnati Moeller) for 20 years and can assure you that most of the male faculty DID NOT root for ND.

If tOSU and ND are both undefeated, that means that USC, Texas, and Tennessee all have losses. Nobody else that goes undefeated could sneak ahead of either team in the BCS. So it would be a tOSU-ND Rose Bowl.

If both teams have 1 loss, ND could sneak ahead of us in the BCS, a lot of factors would come into play.

But I agree with you, cinci - I want ND to have at least 4 losses every year, so they're irrelevant to college football on a national scale.

I also find your comment about the Moeller faculty very interesting. I believe that some of that time would have been when former Moeller coach Gerry Faust was at ND. Wasn't there increased rooting for ND since Faust had come from Moeller?

Jerry was loved at Moeller, let there be not doubt, but even with him at ND most of the us were pulling for anybody but ND. There are three faculty members on staff who are ND grads. The golf coach, German teacher and I used to stand outside their doors and sing "Victors" on Fridays before the Michigan game.

I loathe both teams, and will be pulling for the weasels to pound ND this week, but I could never get myself to sing that awful song!!
