They showed the screw-up at the end of the half, where Russell ran and got tackled with about 14 seconds to go and no timeouts.

But once he was tackled, they should have spiked the ball, I'm pretty sure it was only 3rd down. You can do that in 10-12 seconds, but you can't get the FG team on that fast. That was a mistake by LSU's coaching staff, after the QB's mistake of being stopped in-bounds without a first down.
