Anyone guesses what the other two are when he says this was one of the 3 worst losses in Michigan history? I'm sure App State is one of them.
Appy is the obvious one...didn’t they lose to Toledo as well?
Just in recent memory:
2006
- The Game. Came in with a ton of confidence, had just lost Bo, and though they played a close game, lost AGAIN, crushing NC hopes
2007
- The week after Appy State, Oregon blew their doors off in the Big House, 39-7
2008
- Illinois, 20-45 was pretty embarrassing. I think Juice Williams had something like 500 total yards in that game
- Holy Toledo
- Crushed by tOSU 7-42
2009
- Crushed by a mediocre Illinois team 13-38
2010
- Crushed in the Game 7-37
- Gator Bowl vs. Mississippi State w/DickRod's job on the line, annihilated 14-52
2012
- After a promising 2011, they get trampled by bammer 14-41 in week 1 showing they are nowhere near "back." Their Walmart clearance rack uniforms might have been the most embarrassing part.
2013
- Sparty kicks their ass all over the field. Though the score was just 6-29, it was MUCH worse. Sparty's D manhandled them holding them to an astounding -48 yards rushing and sacked Gardner 7 times.
2014
- Minnesota kicks their ass 14-30 in the infamous "concussion game." This essentially sealed Hoke's fate.
2015
- Sparty blocks a punt as time expires to win 27-23. An all-time blunder.
- The Game. Harbrau's debut. In the big house. tOSU was struggling offensively. Ass kicked, 13-42
2016
- Basically dominating tOSU for 3.5 quarters before self-inflicted wounds and a ridiculous, buttoned-up offensive approach ends in a bitterly disappointing OT loss.
2017
- Lead mediocre South Carolina 19-3 with 5 minutes to go in the 3rd quarter, lose 19-26 after 23 unanswered points
That's a lot of fail.
