He said he wants to get it over with soon and recruit other top players, so it would be great if he did pull the trigger early and go to work. Imo, only way we pull in a guy like Hand or Andrew Brown is if we get guys like Blanding and McMillan in to work on them (those 3 talk quite a bit, along with Garrett). It would be awfully huge if he did from a simple talent perspective too...in my eyes, Quinn is the best all-around safety prospect to come out since Eric Berry.

Actually I think they are extremely comparable athletically. Both are outstanding athletes that are willing to come up and hit you. What puts Blanding over the top for me is he is longer at 6'2, more filled out and college ready, plus his coverage skills are extremely high tuned to the point where nobody can hardly get an inch of seperation on the kid. That combination means that 1) He doesn't get beat, so there is no separation, 2) Your not going to find many receivers that will beat him on a jump ball if there is no separation, and 3) Even if the ball is in your hands, Blanding will crush you and dislodge it. In essence, Blanding is more of a complete player at this point (and yes, I do mean at this point...Blanding absolutely dominated camps and combines against upperclassmen every time).

Didnt think we really had a chance at him, but now that we do. I keep watching his films and the kids is stud! Another S that is a ballhawk and super athletic like bell. But hes even bigger than bell. Landing him and thinking of a future with cam burrows, eli apple and damon webb at cb and vonn bell and blanding at S with worley or bogard at the star. I just cant stop smiling thinking about that
