VA OL Zach Rice (North Carolina Verbal)

Five-star offensive tackle target Zach Rice has been taking to Twitter lately, hinting that a decision may come at any time — literally.

Rice included Ohio State in his top eight schools back in November alongside Florida, LSU, Miami, North Carolina, Notre Dame, Oklahoma and Virginia. While there have been little updates following that release, it seems we may soon learn where Rice is heading, and he may not be heading there alone.

At the end of the above video, Rice calls out fellow five-star OT Ohio State target Gunner Givens and asks if he is ready to make the move.

One doesn’t have to read too far between the lines to notice these two blue-chip offensive linemen may be a package deal. If so, it may spell good news for the Buckeyes, as Givens has a top six of Clemson, Alabama, North Carolina, Virginia Tech, Penn State and Ohio State. Meaning, if the two are indeed committing to the same school, Ohio State and North Carolina would be the only two common denominators.

Would be great to get a set of 'bookend 5* tackles' in one fell swoop. Thought that Gunner was slam dunk to Clemson, and Rice pretty much the same to the Domers....Bama already got their two 5* tackles this year, so maybe not them, unless Clemson rears it's head, I'd say tOSU is a shoo-in, but of course I wear scarlet and gray tinted lenses.....With what tOSU is losing in the next two years, the Buckeyes might be a great choice for these highly intelligent, enterprising, Clemson-tOSU game watching young men.....go Bucks!

Not a single FC or CB for him, and the only fanbase who has shown a shred of confidence is UNC. I’m really not even sure what he’s getting at.

I'm sorry, but this kid seems full of himself. He's a serious talent so of course I want him in S&G, but show a little humility. You aren't the greatest thing since sliced bread so suck it up. Life ain't fair. If you don't want people to know where you are going to school then don't give them anything. Narrow your list and tell all the insiders positives about each school. All I'm saying, if you don't want people to jump to conclusions then stay off social media with all the cryptic messages and stop playing the recruiting game along with the insiders. You are just as guilty as they are.

"A player's nightmare" is a little dramatic. What about not being good enough to get any offers in the first place or having a major injury? Kid could use some perspective.

I'll play devil's advocate. What if the announcement means a lot to him. It represents the emotional payoff of all his hard work. And even if that moment isn't actually undermined by the fact that everyone knows the answer ahead of time, he feels like it does, and it's extremely disappointing for him.

But I do agree with you. I think he's overstating the actual impact.

Then don’t constantly mess around so much on social media about it?

NPF was the #1 OT and had zero drama in his recruitment, had to bide his time to the point that some wondered if he would ever live up to his potential and then when he had his shot this year he’s just been lights out.

Maybe this is a better route to try to follow?

He laid a DB/LB out in the clemson game about 10 yards down field on a Sermon run. He literally supermaned into him, it was awesome.
